Naturalized Spanish center Caio Silveira (211-C-87, agency: Interperformances) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Flamengo and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 25-year old center had a double-double of 23 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Minas (#10, 8-8) 105-90. It allowed Flamengo to consolidate first place in the Spanish NBB. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Flamengo still have not lost a single game, getting all 16 victories. It's Silveira's second year at Flamengo and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Caio Silveira averages this season 12.1ppg and 6.5rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-F-79) of Basquete Cearense. Ribeiro impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Basquete Cearense cruised to a 73-63 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked S.Jose/Unimed (#7, 10-7). Basquete Cearense's 8th position in has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ribeiro is a newcomer at Basquete Cearense and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Flamengo's star - former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (202-F-83). Rodriguez showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of Flamengo, helping his team with a 105-90 easy win against the lower-ranked Minas (#10, 8-8). Flamengo have amazing season winning all 16 games without a single defeat in Round 2. Rodriguez turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Rodriguez has a great season in Brazil. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (#1 in league).

He has played previously for four other Brazil teams: Joinville, Paulistano, Sao Jose/Vinac and Campo Mourao. Mathias attended New Mexico JC until 2008 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. Let's have closer look into His outlook:
Mathias is a great player with excellent attitude and desire for the game; he is tall with long arms and great hands. Thiago has great intensity, a good post game, and knows how to use his body on the paint. He shows great foot work, a soft touch around the basket, great rebounding and excellent mobility for a man of his size and body. He can do many things on the court. He also has a good shot from the 3pt line. His style is like Splitter in a shorter version and a bit more physical. He can play both power forward and center position if needed. He is a great prospect and with some work out he will be come even better and more competitive.

Among other achievements Becker received Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian League 2nd Team award in 2009 and 2014. He has played also professionally in Bulgaria (Lukoil Academic Sofia), Israel (Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv) and Brazil (Vivo/Franca, Minas, COC Ribeirao and Sao Jose/Vinac). The scouts decsribe him following way:
Positives: Murilo has great size for a power forward. Plays Center in Brazil and is dominant, although he is not that big. Good rebounder, runs the floor well and is quick for his size. Deals very well with bigger guys. Nice touch on short distance shots and midrange shots. Not a terrible 3pt shooter, although he doesn't shoot that much from the outside.
Negatives: Not that athletic when compared to most NBA power forwards. Does not have good size to be an NBA center, and he isn't athletic enough to guard quicker power forwards. Commits too many fouls and can easily get into foul trouble. Does not have much of a post up game.
