NBB is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 18 rounds left.

An interesting game for Flamengo (17-0) which hosted in Rio de Janeiro 4th ranked Pinheiros (11-6). Top-ranked Flamengo had an easy win 102-85. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Pinheiros managed to win second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Flamengo outrebounded Pinheiros 39-15 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flamengo made 7 blocks. It was a good game for the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (202-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) contributed with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Joe Smith (193-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) replied with 18 points and 7 assists for Pinheiros. Undefeated Flamengo have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-0 record. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Franca. Flamengo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Uberlandia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pinheiros will play against Joinville and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Aldeota. Fifteenth ranked Mogi (6-11) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging higher ranked SKY/Basquete (9-8) 74-71 on Saturday evening. The former international center Babby Araujo (211-80, college: BYU) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Maurice Riddick chipped in 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mogi moved-up to fourteenth place. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Mogi will play against higher ranked Liga Sorocaba (#12) in Sorocabana in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. The game between third ranked Brasilia (12-4) and 7th ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (10-8) in Brasilia on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Brasilia outscored guests from Sao Jose 90-57. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
