Lee Academy big man Marcelo Rabelo (202-PF-93) made a verbal commitment to Monmouth University, a NEC school.

Marcelo Deschamps is a Brazilian native currently in his second season at Lee Academy. Hes made consistent strides during his two years in New England.

Lee Academy head coach Deshon Gaither referred to Deschamps as one of his steadiest players on Sunday, noting his work ethic, rebounding presence, and ability to knock down the elbow jumper.

Deschamps is the fourth player to commit to Monmouth head coach King Rice this season joining guard Josh James, forward Greg Noack, and fellow big man Zach Tillman.

The six-foot-ten big man is also the fourth Lee Academy product to commit this year joining Mohamed Bah (Drexel), Kiefer Douse (Vermont), and Stefan Zecevic (Bradley).

Deschamps were in action during the final game of the National Prep School Invitational on Sunday as Lee held off Notre Dames post-graduate team. The player were still uncommitted prior to the game.
