Tenth-ranked SKY/Basquete (11-13) made lots of trouble for second ranked Brasilia (20-4) in Aldeota on Tuesday. The visitors from Brasilia managed to secure only four-point victory 104-100. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Welington Dos Santos who scored 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Brasilia have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 20-4 record having four points less than leader Flamengo. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Brasilia will face Winner/Limeira (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SKY/Basquete will play against Joinville.

Rest of the games of round 26 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Limeira was defeated by Franca in Sao Paulo 75-62. Uberlandia smashed Joinville at home 99-73. Pinheiros/Sky was destroyed by Minas on the opponent's court 101-75. Basquete Cearense was outscored by Flamengo in a home game 82-101. Tijuca TC recorded a loss to Brasilia on the road 90-79. Vila Velha was defeated by Paulistano on its own court 120-126. Pinheiros/Sky was beaten by Limeira in a road game 82-81.



Franca - Limeira 75-62

There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 12th ranked Winner/Limeira (11-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Vivo/Franca (17-8) 75-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 42-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Vivo/Franca looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Winner/Limeira's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vivo/Franca made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. Center Lucas Mariano (207-93) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Omar Carter (195-88, college: Appalachian St.) produced 14 points and center Daniel Castellar (202-83) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Winner/Limeira's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Uberlandia. Winner/Limeira at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Vivo/Franca's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Suzano.

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Uberlandia (17-8) smashed at home 14th ranked Joinville (8-16) 99-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Uberlandia. Joinville was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Uberlandia shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Uberlandia made 12 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Robert Day (197-82, college: W.Oregon) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. International power forward Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Pinheiros was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 31-of-32 free shots (96.9 percent) during the game, while Pinheiros only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded Pinheiros 38-20 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Minas made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!).
