An interesting game for Flamengo (12-5) which played road game in Sao Paolo against 3rd placed Pinheiros (11-7). Second ranked Flamengo managed to get a 7-point victory 84-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pinheiros. They outrebounded Pinheiros 45-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Flamengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (183-86, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) answered with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for Pinheiros. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-5 record behind leader Brasilia. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Franca and Mogi. Flamengo are looking forward to face Mogi (#6) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round. Pinheiros will play on the road against Paschoalotto/Bauru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Fulvio de Assis helped adding 11 points and 10 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) responded with 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brasilia maintains first place with 13-5 record. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Brasilia will play against Paulistano (#10) in Sao Paolo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SKY/Basquete will have a break next round.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Vasco Da G. was beaten by Mogi on the road 80-73. Campo Mourao won against Caxias do Sul on its own court 83-74. Vitoria managed to outperform Minas in Salvador 82-78. Franca managed to beat Paulistano at home 78-71. Caxias do Sul was defeated by Mogi on the opponent's court 73-64. Bauru smashed L.Sorocaba in a home game 87-55.
The most impressive performance of 19th round was 11 points and 11 rebounds by Caue Freitas of Campo Mourao.

Mogi - Vasco Da G. 80-73

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Mogi (11-7) beat 9th ranked Vasco Da G. (9-8) in Mogi das Cruzes 80-73. Mogi players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. International Jimmy de Oliveira (191-90) helped adding 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Four Vasco Da G. players scored in double figures. Vasco Da G.'s coach Dede Barbosa tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mogi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Franca and Pinheiros. Vasco Da G. at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Mogi will play against league's second-placed Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vasco Da G. will play on the road against Campo Mourao (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Paulistano's coach Gustavo Conti tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pinheiros and Mogi. Paulistano lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Andrade has played there for the last four years. In 20 games he had 8.0ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5spg last season.
