33-year old forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-F-83) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Flamengo and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Pinheiros (#5, 11-7) 84-77. Flamengo maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Flamengo will need more victories to improve their 12-5 record. In the team's last game Rodriguez had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Flamengo, through which he has constantly improved. Rodriguez has impressive league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 11.7rpg. Rodriguez is in league's top in and averages solid 64.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80, agency: Interperformances) of Mogi. He is naturalized American guard in his 3rd season at Mogi. In the last game Stallworth recorded impressive 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Mogi cruised to a 80-73 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Vasco Da G. (#9, 9-8). This victory allowed Mogi to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Stallworth is one of the most experienced players at Mogi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 4.3rpg and 3.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Cordero Bennett (188-G-88) of Pinheiros (#5). Bennett showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Bennett's great performance Pinheiros lost 77-84 to the higher-ranked Flamengo (#2, 12-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Pinheiros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 7 lost games. Bennett has a very solid season. In 18 games in Brazil he scored 15.4ppg. He also has 3.9apg and FGP: 65.9%.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
