The round 20 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

NBB top team - Brasilia (14-5) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat tenth ranked Paulistano (8-11) 85-76. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brasilia made 8 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Paulistano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international point guard Fulvio de-Assis (188-81) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian Daniel Hure (200-85) responded with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Paulistano's coach Gustavo Conti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia maintains first position with 14-5 record. Paulistano lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Minas. Brasilia are looking forward to face Liga Sorocaba (#13) in Sorocabana in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Paulistano will play on the road against Minas in Belo Horizonte and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
15th ranked Macae (3-16) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Campo Mourao (11-8) with the biggest margin this round 91-78. The winners were led by the former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) who scored that evening 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Isaac Thornton supported him with 22 points. Even 20 points and 5 assists by American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Macae. Macae's coach Leonardo Costa tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Campo Mourao moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Macae lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Campo Mourao will play against league's second-placed Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Macae will play at home against Mogi (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: L.Sorocaba lost to Minas on the opponent's court 61-68. Bauru managed to outperform Pinheiros in a home game 74-64. Mogi recorded a loss to Flamengo on the road 87-96. Campo Mourao was defeated by Vasco Da G. on its own court 77-82.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 12 rebounds by Murilo Becker of Vasco Da G..

Minas - L.Sorocaba 68-61

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Liga Sorocaba's (4-15) road loss to twelfth ranked Minas (8-11) 61-68. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Minas had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94) supported him with 17 points. Minas' coach Luiz Fernando Nery Leao allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by guard Rafael Castellon (192-85) did not help to save the game for Liga Sorocaba. Argentinian point guard Enzo Cafferata (187-88) added 10 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Minas moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Paulistano. Liga Sorocaba lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Minas will play against Paulistano (#10) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Liga Sorocaba will play on the road against the league's leader Brasilia and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Bauru - Pinheiros 74-64

Rather predictable result when third ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-6) defeated at home 5th ranked Pinheiros (11-8) 74-64. The winners were led by international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Even 15 points and 6 assists by American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. Germerson Barbosa (202-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Paschoalotto/Bauru have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-6 record behind leader Brasilia. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Paschoalotto/Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pinheiros will play on the road against Vivo/Franca (#5) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Flamengo - Mogi 96-87

Not a big story in a game in Rio de Janeiro where 6th ranked Mogi (11-8) was defeated by second ranked Flamengo (13-5) 96-87. Flamengo had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) supported him with 20 points and 6 assists. Even 29 points by naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Mogi. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
