Point guard David Rossetto (180-PG-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for B.Cearense and that's him to receive a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 23-year old playmaker had the game-high 19 points adding nine rebounds and seven assists for B.Cearense in his team's victory, helping them to beat Caxias do Sul (#14, 3-17) 88-78. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. B.Cearense is placed at 10th position in Brazilian NBB. B.Cearense is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-10 record. Rossetto has many years of experience at B.Cearense, through which he has constantly improved. Rossetto has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.8apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old former international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-G-94) of Minas. Fuzaro impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Minas lost that game 85-96 to slightly higher-ranked Paulistano (#11, 9-11). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Minas dropped in the standings to 12th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-12 record. Fuzaro is one of the most experienced players at Minas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-F-83) of second-ranked Flamengo. Rodriguez scored 15 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Flamengo, leading his team to a 79-69 win against the lower-ranked Campo Mourao (#7, 11-9). Flamengo needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 5 lost games. Rodriguez has a great season in Brazil. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.6rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Greg Brown (188-G-94) of Campo Mourao - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Daniel Hure (200-PF-85) of Paulistano - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Frederico Lima (183-PG-80) of Caxias do Sul - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Drew Maynard (200-F-89) of Minas - 19 points and 7 rebounds
8. Eduardo Machado (193-G-82) of B.Cearense - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Guilherme Hubner (208-C-87) of Paulistano - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Antonio Ferreira (178-F-94) of Franca - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
