NBB round 22 caused change at the leadership position. Sixth defeat of league's leader Brasilia (15-6) against eighth ranked Pinheiros (12-9) 86-78 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Brasilia. Pinheiros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for Brasilia. Pinheiros moved-up to seventh place. Brasilia at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Flamengo. Brasilia will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Pinheiros will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Minas in Belo Horizonte.
The game between 13th ranked Liga Sorocaba (4-17) and second ranked Flamengo (15-5) in Sorocabana ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Rio de Janeiro outscored Liga Sorocaba 90-58. American power forward Hakeem Rollins (201-83, college: Washington, agency: DTMones) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Marcelo Machado chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Ted Bento (199-80) responded with 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flamengo have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Liga Sorocaba lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Flamengo will play against Paulistano (#10) in Sao Paolo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Liga Sorocaba will play at home against Macae and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 22 were not that significant. Campo Mourao was beaten by Vitoria on the road 86-79. B.Cearense lost to defending champion Mogi on its own court 77-85. Franca managed to outperform Caxias do Sul in Sao Paulo 100-95. Paulistano rolled over Macae at home 85-65. Bauru crushed Vasco Da G. on the opponent's court 90-64.
The most impressive performance of 22th round was 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Betinho Nardi-Duarte of Campo Mourao.

Vitoria - Campo Mourao 86-79

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Universo/Vitoria (14-6) beat 7th ranked Campo Mourao (11-10) in Salvador 86-79. American forward Christopher Hayes (203-87, college: Detroit Mercy) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arthur Silva (196-82) chipped in 17 points during the contest.
