We bring you last week's top performances from Brazilians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Houston Rockets (42-19) in their last game. Despite Hilario's very good performance the Houston Rockets (42-19) lost 108-117 on the road to the Indiana Pacers. He recorded 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes on the court. It's Hilario's first season with the team. Hilario has relatively good stats this year: 8.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 2FGP: 61.6%(162-263), 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 59.1% in 51 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Vitor Faverani (212-88, currently plays in Euroleague). Faverani contributed to a FC Barcelona's victory against the 14th-ranked Armani Milano (7-16) 83-78 in the Euroleague last Thursday. He scored 9 points. FC Barcelona Lassa (9-14) is placed 11th in group A. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. This season Faverani has relatively solid stats: 10.2ppg, 4.7rpg, 2FGP: 66.7%(22-33) and FT: 77.8%. He played for the Brazilian national team in 2013.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86, currently plays in Spain). Hettsheimer was not able to help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (9-12) in their last game. Despite his good performance Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was crushed 85-61 in Tenerife by the leading CB Canarias. Hettsheimer was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. This year Hettsheimer averages: 5.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 28.6% and FT: 83.3% in four games. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish. Ex-Paschoalotto/Bauru player is also a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

Center Augusto Lima (207-91, currently plays in Lithuania) helped Zalgiris win their game against the league outsider Siauliai (3-21) crushing them 101-50 in the Lithuanian LKL in Monday night's game. Lima scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (22-2) is placed first in the LKL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Lima's overall stats this season are: 6.2ppg and 4.9rpg. He is also Brazilian national team player.

International power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) helped Chicago Bulls win their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (41-17) 117-99 in the NBA last Saturday. Felicio scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. The Chicago Bulls have 30-29 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Felicio's overall stats are: 4.9ppg and 4.9rpg in 50 games. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

   #6. Point guard Leandro Barbosa (190-82, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Phoenix Suns (18-41) in their game against the Chicago Bulls (30-29) in the NBA. Barbosa recorded 8 points and added 3 assists. The Phoenix Suns (18-41) were defeated 128-121 at home by the Bulls. Barbosa's total stats this season are: 5.7ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.2apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Brazilian National Team roster.

International shooting guard Vitor Benite (194-90, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) helped UCAM Murcia win their game against the closely-ranked Sevilla (7-14) 92-80 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Benite recorded 8 points in 21 minutes. Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (7-14) is placed 12th in the Liga Endesa. Benite has reliable stats this year: 12.7ppg and 1.9rpg in 21 games. He is also Brazilian national team player.

Forward Tulio Da Silva (201-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the S.Florida (1-12) in their game against the The University of Tulsa (3-8) in the NCAA, despite his good performance on Thursday night. Da Silva recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. But the S.Florida lost 68-82 on their home court in Tampa to the The University of. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Da Silva's stats this year are: 10.1ppg and 7.0rpg in 27 games. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2014.

International forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94, currently plays in Spain) led Lleida Basquet to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Castello (11-14) crushing them 92-69 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Demetrio recorded 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Actel Forca Lleida (14-11) is placed ninth in the LEB Gold. Demetrio averaged so far 11.0ppg and 5.8rpg. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian national team.

Center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay) managed to help Malvin Montevideo in a 2-point victory against the leader U Universitario (9-3) 91-89 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB last Thursday. Passos scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. Malvin Montevideo (6-6) is placed fifth in Promocional 1 group. The Second Stage already ended. This year Passos' total stats are: 9.4ppg, 10.5rpg and 1.1apg in 26 games. He is a former international player as seven years ago he still played for the Brazilian senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help La ICL Manresa in their game against RETAbet BB in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Machado recorded 6 points. His team was defeated 86-79. Machado has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized American. Machado used to play for the Brazilian national team four years ago. Strangely he has never played in Brazil.

   #12. Former international small forward Jonathan Tavernari (197-87, college: BYU, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Mens Sana 1871 in their game against Rieti in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Tavernari cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 29 minutes. His team was crushed by 35 points 90-55. Tavernari has averaged so far 10.0ppg and 4.7rpg in 23 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former international center Lucas Tischer (208-83, currently plays in Chile) couldn't help CD Tinguiririca San Fernando in their game against Los Leones in the Chilean Liga Nacional, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Tischer also added 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 35 minutes. But his team was crushed by 23 points 96-73. Tischer averaged so far 14.7ppg, 8.9rpg and 3.0apg in seven games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team eleven years ago.

   #14. Former U18 international center Lucas Siewert (202-97, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Colorado in their game against the University of Utah in the NCAA. Siewert recorded 5 points. His team was defeated 86-81. Siewert has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 2.1rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2014.

   #15. Former U19 international forward Guilherme Verardo (198-94, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Slippery Rock University in their game against the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in the NCAA2. Verardo scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. His team was crushed by 28 points 93-65 in the NCAA2. Verardo has averaged so far 2.1ppg and 2.5rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Diego Soarez (205-C-87, currently plays in Uruguay). Soarez could not help U Universitario (9-3) to beat Malvin (6-6). He scored 9 points. But the first-placed U Universitario (9-3) was edged 91-89 in a derby game by the lower-ranked Malvin (#5) in the Promocional 1 group. It was U Universitario's first loss after four consecutive victories. The Second Stage already ended. Soarez's total stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 3.6rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Uruguayan.

   #2. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Oviedo CB (16-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite Dos Anjos' good performance Oviedo CB was defeated 77-70 on the road by the much lower-ranked Magia_Huesca (#16). He recorded 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Dos Anjos has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.2bpg.

   #3. Experienced Kazuya Hatano (192-F-82, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Ryukyu GK (17-24) in their game against Chiba Jets (28-13) in the Japanese B League. Hatano scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. The fifth-placed Ryukyu GK (17-24) lost 71-80 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Chiba Jets in the West group. Hatano has averaged so far 3.2ppg and 2.9rpg in 39 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Japanese.

   #4. Joao Gallina (192-SF-94, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Maia Basket (3-19) crushing them 110-60 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. Gallina recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. FC Porto (19-3) is placed first in the LPB. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Gallina has averaged so far 1.6ppg and 1.7rpg. He has both Brazilian and Portuguese nationalities. Despite Gallina's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the Portuguese U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #5. Renato Ribeiro (190-F-95, currently plays in Portugal) couldn't help Guifoes (9-10) in their game against Angrabasket (6-0) in the Portuguese Proliga (second division). Ribeiro scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. his team lost 88-94 on the opponent's court to the leading Angrabasket in the Places 9-16 group. Ribeiro has averaged so far 5.7ppg and 3.9rpg in 18 games.

   #6. Rafael Barbosa (191-F-91, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Barbera in their game against Valls Nutrion in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Barbosa scored only 3 points in 14 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 68-51. Barbosa has averaged so far 5.6ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.1apg in 18 games. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #7. Gabriel Andrade (185-G-93, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the BYU-Hawaii in their game against the Point Loma Nazarene College in the NCAA2. Andrade cannot count Monday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 84-66 in the NCAA2. Andrade has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5spg.

   #8. Jose Libiano (206-F, currently plays in NCAA2) managed to help SE Oklahoma State University in a victory against the Arkansas Tech 89-81 in the NCAA2 in Saturday night's game. He scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. Libiano has averaged so far 1.4ppg and 2.1rpg in 16 games.

   #9. Felipe Souza (198-F-98, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Nova Southeastern University in their game against the Lynn University in the NCAA2. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Souza scored only 2 points. His team was defeated 72-68 in the NCAA2. Souza has averaged so far 1.3ppg and 1.6rpg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Souza has never played in Brazil.

   #10. Clement Faroux (188-G-93, currently plays in France) contributed to Lorient's surprising victory against the third-ranked Souffelweyersheim 71-65 in the French NM1 (third division) on Saturday night. He recorded only 3 points and added 6 assists in 24 minutes. Faroux has averaged so far 7.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.2spg in 22 games. He has Brazilian and French nationalities.

Paulistano - B.Cearense 93-89 Paulistano defeated Basket Cearense to even the series at 1-1. Paulistano made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Paulistano outrebounded SKY/Basquete 37-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 10 in the Liga Ouro took place in Brusque. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Sao Jose (9-3) to eighth ranked Brusque (2-10) 74-73 on Tuesday evening.
