The Regular Season in Liga Ouro just started. Coincidentally all visitors won their games. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Blumenau (0-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by Joinville (1-0) 77-75. Joinville forced 21 Blumenau turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Andre Mendes (192-93) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Gabriel De Oliveira (202-93) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Joinville are looking forward to face Santos/Macapa (#6) in the next round. Blumenau will play against Brusque and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Santos. Botafogo F.R. (2-0) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Santos/Macapa (0-2) 66-63 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) nailed 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Wesley Russell accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Botafogo F.R.'s coach Marcio Andrade allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Ulisses Lima (198-85) came up with 15 points for Santos/Macapa in the defeat. Botafogo F.R. will play against Contagem in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santos/Macapa will play against Brusque (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Brusque will play against Santos/Macapa (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
