An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mogi das Cruzes. Third ranked Mogi faced second-best Brasilia. Host Mogi (16-8) smashed guests from Brasilia (16-7) 84-58. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who recorded 8 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mogi have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bauru. Brasilia at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Mogi is looking forward to face Minas (#12) in Belo Horizonte in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brasilia will play on the road against Minas (#12) in Belo Horizonte and is hoping to win this game.

Liga Sorocaba moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Caxias do Sul. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Liga Sorocaba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pinheiros' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paolo to the arena Paulistano.

SKY/Basquete will meet higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vivo/Franca will play against Universo/Vitoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 24 Minas was defeated by Campo Mourao in a road game 114-105. Bauru beat Vitoria at home 83-71.

Important game to mention about took place in Sorocabana. Fourteenth ranked Liga Sorocaba (5-18) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Pinheiros (13-10) 64-63 on Wednesday evening. There was no surprise when 12th ranked Minas (8-15) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Campo Mourao (13-11) 114-105 on Tuesday. Campo Mourao looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Greg Brown (188-94, college: St.Francis, PA) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Isaac Thornton (190-91, college: Fairmont St.) who added 30 points and 4 assists during the contest. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Campo Mourao players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Campo Mourao went down to eighth position due to points difference. Minas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Campo Mourao will meet at home league's leader Brasilia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Minas will play against the league's leader Brasilia (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
