Drew Maynard
American Drew Maynard (200-F-89) had a great game in the last round for Minas and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 30 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Campo Mourao (#8, 13-11) 105-114. Minas maintains the 12th position in Brazilian NBB. Minas is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 15th lost game this season out of 23 games. In the team's last game Maynard had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Minas' top player in his first season with the team. Rochester College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Maynard is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 7.8rpg) and averages solid 62.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old American guard Greg Brown (188-G-94) of Campo Mourao. Brown impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Campo Mourao cruised to a 114-105 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Minas (#12, 8-15). Despite this victory Campo Mourao slide down in the standings to 8th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Brown is a newcomer at Campo Mourao and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. St.Francis University (PA) alumni Brown played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was international Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) of Bauru (#4). Meindl scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Bauru, leading his team to a 83-71 win against slightly lower-ranked Vitoria (#6, 14-9). Bauru needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 8 lost games. Meindl has a very solid season. In 20 games in Brazil he scored 12.1ppg. He also has 4.3rpg and FGP: 52.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Douglas Nunes (208-PF-87) of Campo Mourao - 21 points and 11 rebounds
5. Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80) of Mogi - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Isaac Thornton (190-G-91) of Campo Mourao - 30 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
7. David Rossetto (180-PG-93) of B.Cearense - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Leonardo Klassmann (208-C-89) of B.Cearense - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Luis Felipe Gruber (206-SF-85) of B.Cearense - 19 points and 6 rebounds
10. Vinicius Oliveira (200-PF-90) of Campo Mourao - 13 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
