Here is the weekly review of the top performing Brazilian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Rafael Freire Luz (188-92, currently plays in Spain). He could not help Baskonia (16-7) in their last game. Despite Freire Luz's good performance Baskonia lost 82-87 on the road to the league outsider (#17) La ICL Manresa. He scored 11 points in only a mere 10 minutes on the court. It was Baskonia's first loss after four consecutive victories. It's Freire Luz's first season with the team. This year Freire Luz averages: 3.4ppg, 1.5rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 69.2%(18-26), 3FGP: 23.1% and FT: 71.4% in 19 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish. Freire Luz is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA). He led Houston Rockets to a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (43-22) 117-112 in the NBA last Sunday. Hilario scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Houston Rockets have a solid 46-21 record this season. Hilario has relatively good stats this year: 8.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 2FGP: 62.4%(186-298), 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 59.3%. He is in the roster of the Brazilian senior national team.

Barbosa was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (22-45) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Phoenix Suns (22-45) lost 127-131 in Washington to the Wizards. Barbosa scored 12 points and added 3 passes in 23 minutes. This year Barbosa's overall stats are: 6.0ppg, 1.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 47.0%, 3FGP: 36.3% and FT: 89.2% in 63 games. He is also a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

Lima scored 8 points. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (23-3) is placed first in the LKL. Lima's total stats this season are: 6.4ppg and 4.5rpg. He is also Brazilian national team player.

Former international center Vitor Faverani (212-88, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help FC Barcelona Lassa in a victory against one of league's weakest teams Unics Kazan (7-18) 70-62 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Faverani recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. FC Barcelona Lassa (10-15) is placed 11th in the Euroleague. This year Faverani's total stats are: 8.4ppg and 4.5rpg in eight games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team four years ago.

Power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Chicago Bulls (32-35) in their game against the Boston Celtics (42-25) in the NBA. Despite his good performance on Sunday night Felicio scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Felicio has averaged so far 5.1ppg and 4.9rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Brazilian National Team roster.

Hettsheimer has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 2.3rpg in six games. He is also Brazilian national team player.

Machado contributed to an La ICL Manresa's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Baskonia (16-7) 87-82. He scored 10 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Machado has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized American. Machado used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2013. Strangely he has never played in Brazil.

Neto recorded 7 points in only 13 minutes. The Utah Jazz (42-25) lost 104-112 at home to the Thunder. This year Neto averages only 2.3ppg in 34 games. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian national team.

Despite his good performance in Thursday night's game Da Silva scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Da Silva has averaged so far 9.8ppg and 6.8rpg. He is a former U18 international player as three years ago he still played for the Brazilian national team.

   #11. International shooting guard Vitor Benite (194-90, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Andorra crushing them 77-53 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Benite scored 5 points in 18 minutes. This year Benite has relatively solid stats: 11.9ppg and 2.0rpg in 23 games. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

   #12. Former international small forward Jonathan Tavernari (197-87, college: BYU, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Mens Sana 1871 in their game against Agropoli in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Tavernari scored only 4 points. His team was edged 76-75. Tavernari has averaged so far 9.8ppg and 4.5rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former international guard Carlos Cobos (193-88, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a CB Granada's victory against the league outsider Zamorano 84-79 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. Cobos scored 14 points and added 3 passes in 26 minutes. Cobos has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg in 24 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team seven years ago.

   #14. International forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an Lleida Basquet's victory against the closely-ranked Melilla Baloncesto 87-82 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. Demetrio scored 6 points in 30 minutes. Demetrio has reliable stats this year: 10.7ppg and 5.7rpg in 27 games. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

Experienced Kazuya Hatano (192-F-82, currently plays in Japan) managed to help Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa to win against the fifth-ranked Yokohama BC (14-29) 75-66 in the Japanese B League last Sunday. Hatano scored only 2 points. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (19-24) is placed fifth in West group. Hatano has averaged so far 3.1ppg and 3.0rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Japanese.

   #2. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an Oviedo CB's victory against the 13th-ranked Castello (11-16) 97-87 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Saturday night's game. Dos Anjos scored 6 points. Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo (18-9) is placed third in the LEB Gold. Dos Anjos has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.1bpg.

   #3. Rafael Barbosa (191-F-91, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Barbera's victory against the 12th-ranked Cerdanyola (6-14) 81-72 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Sunday. He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. Barbera Team Values (13-7) is placed fourth in Group C-B. Barbosa has averaged so far 5.5ppg and 4.5rpg in 20 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #4. Clement Faroux (188-G-93, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked UB Chartres (14-14) 97-80 in the French NM1 (third division) on Tuesday night. Faroux scored 10 points and added 5 assists. CEP Lorient (11-17) is placed 15th in the NM1. Faroux has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg. He has both Brazilian and French nationalities. Despite Faroux's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the French U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #5. Joao Gallina (192-SF-94, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Illiabum (12-13) crushing them 85-53 in the Portuguese LPB in Sunday night's game. Gallina scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. FC Porto (21-4) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. Gallina has averaged so far 1.6ppg and 1.6rpg in 18 games. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and Portuguese.

   #6. Renato Ribeiro (190-F-95, currently plays in Portugal). Ribeiro could not help Guifoes to beat Ginasio. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 80-74. Ribeiro has averaged so far 5.6ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #7. Leandro Miranda (205-C-91, currently plays in Spain) led Ponferrada CDP to a victory against the second-ranked Leon 89-77 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday night. He scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 3 blocks in 23 minutes. Miranda has averaged so far 6.9ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.4bpg in nine games.

Paulista Round 3: Vivo/Franca edges Liga Sorocaba by one point - 10 hours ago
The most exciting game of round 3 in the Paulista took place in Sorocabana. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of Liga Sorocaba (3-2) to Vivo/Franca (4-0) 74-73 in the game for the first place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Liga Sorocaba won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brazil - Uruguay 63:69 Uruguay clinched the opening win at the Super 4 tournament in Salta. They upset Brazil behind 17 points and 9 boards from Esteban Batista (208-C/F-83, agency: Duran International). Uruguay snatched a 17:15 lead ten minutes into the game. Minas (NBB) signed 25-year old American guard Evan Roquemore (190-82kg-92, college: Santa Clara). He played last season at Nidaros Jets in Norwegian BLNO. In 13 games he had very impressive stats: 25.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 4.8apg and 2.5spg. Great season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Norwegian BLNO Honorable Mention.
