The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

Bottom-ranked Macae managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Caxias do Sul 73-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caxias do Sul. Macae made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Caxias do Sul turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Caxias do Sul helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Macae's coach Leonardo Costa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) answered with 13 points for Caxias do Sul. Macae (5-18) moved-up to thirteenth place. Caxias do Sul at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with L.Sorocaba. Macae are looking forward to face higher ranked Flamengo (#3) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caxias do Sul will play on the road against Vasco Da G. (#9) in Rio de Janeiro and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Campo Mourao was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Brasilia (17-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Campo Mourao (13-12). Brasilia defeated Campo Mourao 90-80. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) stepped up and scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Lucas Mariano chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Isaac Thornton (190-91, college: Fairmont St.) responded with 19 points and 4 assists. Campo Mourao's coach Emerson Souza rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia keeps a position of league leader. Campo Mourao at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Brasilia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Campo Mourao will play on the road against the league's second-placed Mogi (#2) in Mogi das Cruzes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between third ranked Mogi (17-8) and 12th ranked Minas (8-16) in Mogi das Cruzes on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Mogi outscored guests from Belo Horizonte 87-64. Larry Taylor nailed 17 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Scott Rodgers came up with 15 points for Minas in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Minas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Mogi will meet at home Campo Mourao (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Minas will have a break next round.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Rio de Janeiro: Flamengo (#4) and Vasco Da G. (#9). Flamengo (16-6) won against visiting Vasco Da G. (12-12) 94-86. Flamengo's next round opponent will be Macae (#13) at home and are hoping to win another game. Vasco Da G. will play against Caxias do Sul (#14) and hope to win that game.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Sao Paolo: Pinheiros (#7) and Paulistano (#10). Paulistano was defeated at home 67-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a very good performance for Cordero Bennett who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinheiros maintains seventh place with 14-10 record. Loser Paulistano dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round. Paulistano will play at home against Liga Sorocaba (#15) and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 25 were not that significant. Brasilia beat Minas on the road 74-62. Franca won against Vitoria on its own court 81-74. B.Cearense unfortunately lost to Bauru in a road game 72-78.

Minas - Brasilia 62-74

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Brasilia (17-7) beat 12th ranked Minas (8-16) in Belo Horizonte 74-62 on Monday. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. They keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
