Marquinhos
Vieira
32-year old Marquinhos Vieira (207-SF-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Flamengo and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
He had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Flamengo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Vasco Da G. (#10, 12-13) 94-86. It allowed Flamengo to take over top position in the Brazilian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Flamengo has a very solid 17-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Vieira had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Flamengo, through which he has constantly improved. Vieira has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.9ppg) and averages solid 51.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kendall Anthony (173-PG-93) of Macae. He is American guard in his first season at Macae. In the last game Anthony recorded impressive 33 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Macae to edge slightly higher-ranked Caxias do Sul (#13, 6-19) by 6 points 73-67. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Macae dropped in the standings to very bottom position. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Macae managed to get this year. Anthony is a newcomer at Macae and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#4). He also recorded 5.4 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Guilherme Giovannoni (203-PF-80) of league's second-best Brasilia. Giovannoni showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Brasilia, leading his team to a 90-80 win against the lower-ranked Campo Mourao (#8, 13-12). Brasilia needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 7 lost games. Giovannoni has a great season in Brazil. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.9rpg (3rd best). Guilherme Giovannoni has also Brazilian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alexey Borges (188-PG-95) of Franca - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Larry Taylor (185-PG-80) of Mogi - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
6. David Rossetto (180-PG-93) of B.Cearense - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
