There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Liga Ouro. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Botafogo F.R. (3-1) on the court of Contagem on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Contagem 82-78. Contagem forced 24 Botafogo F.R. turnovers. Strangely Botafogo F.R. outrebounded Contagem 45-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Botafogo F.R. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Fernando Alvim (201-80) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. Rodrigo Maistro (200-87) chipped in 23 points and 5 steals. American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) produced 22 points and 9 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the guests. Botafogo F.R.'s coach Marcio Andrade tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Contagem is looking forward to face Santos/Macapa (#4) in the next round. Botafogo F.R. will play against Blumenau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Brusque. Santos/Macapa (2-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Brusque (0-4) 69-67 on Thursday evening. Ulisses Lima (198-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Ricardo de-Azevedo contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Durval Prado (200-92) replied with 9 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for Brusque. Brusque's coach Alexandre da Rocha let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Santos/Macapa will play against Contagem in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brusque will play against Joinville (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Adriano Machado scored 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Lucas Vezaro responded with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Joinville's coach George Salles tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Santos/Macapa will meet at home Contagem in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Joinville will play against Brusque and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Jamaal Smith notched 13 points and 5 assists to lead the effort. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Botafogo F.R.'s next round opponent will be Blumenau (#3), which may be the game of the day. Contagem will play against Santos/Macapa and hope to win that game.

Brusque will play on the road against Joinville (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 2 Santos/Macapa was defeated by Blumenau in a road game 72-65.
