Shamell
Stallworth
Naturalized American Shooting guard Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Mogi, receiving a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 36-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Bauru (#5, 18-11) 87-80. Mogi maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian NBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mogi will need more victories to improve their 19-8 record. In the team's last game Stallworth had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Mogi, through which he has constantly improved. Former University of San Francisco star has very solid stats this year. Stallworth is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.9ppg) and averages impressive 56.0% FGP and 45.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old Ralfi Ansaloni (211-C-87) of Pinheiros. Ansaloni had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Pinheiros cruised to a 83-74 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Vasco Da G. (#10, 13-15). Pinheiros' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 17-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ansaloni is a newcomer at Pinheiros, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Kendall Anthony (173-PG-93) of Macae (#13). Anthony scored 22 points and passed eight assists. He was a key player of Macae, leading his team to a 87-74 easy win against the higher-ranked Brasilia (#3, 19-9). Macae can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 7-21 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Anthony he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Anthony has individually a great season in Brazil. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (best scorer) and assists with 5.5apg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jefferson Andrade (207-PF-83) of Bauru - 32 points and 6 rebounds
5. Cordero Bennett (188-G-88) of Pinheiros - 22 points and 8 assists
6. Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) of Bauru - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Gaucho Zilmer (197-SF-86) of Vasco Da G. - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Alex Garcia (191-G-80) of Bauru - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Guilherme Giovannoni (203-PF-80) of Brasilia - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists
10. Lucas Mariano (208-C/F-93) of Brasilia - 30 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Liga Ouro Round 7: Blumenau loses to Joinville in the game between Top 4 teams - 2 days ago
Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Very significant was Joinville's (#3, 7-4) victory against 4th placed Blumenau (4-7) 78-74. It was a great evening for guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds.
