The most exciting game of round 6 in the Paulista took place in Bauru. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-5) to first ranked Vivo/Franca (8-1) 65-64 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paschoalotto/Bauru. Paschoalotto/Bauru was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 25-16 charge of Vivo/Franca, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Paschoalotto/Bauru helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Antonio Fereira (200-94) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca maintains first position with 8-1 record. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Vivo/Franca are looking forward to face Pinheiros (#4) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play on the road against Liga Sorocaba in Sorocabana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paolo: Paulistano (#4) and Pinheiros (#4). Paulistano (5-3) won against visiting Pinheiros (5-4) 69-62. It was a good game for power forward Victor Camilo (203-97) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Kyle Fuller contributed with 16 points for the winners. The former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds for Pinheiros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paulistano have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mogi. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Paulistano will play against league's second-placed Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pinheiros will play on the road against America in Rio Preto and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Osasco B. can celebrate finally their first win this season after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Liga Sorocaba (4-4) 82-65 on Tuesday. Luiz-Paulo Dos-Santos scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Anton Cook with 21 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Osasco B. maintains eighth position with 1-8 record. Loser Liga Sorocaba dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Osasco B. will meet at home higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liga Sorocaba will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was no surprise in Mogi das Cruzes where 8th ranked Osasco B. (1-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Mogi (5-3) 72-58. The game without a history. Mogi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Osasco B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) notched 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) supported him with 11 points. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Luiz-Paulo Dos-Santos (210-89, college: Slippery Rock) did not help to save the game for Osasco B.. Guard Rodrigo Italo (193-94) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-5) smashed at home 7th ranked America (2-6) 104-81. The game was mostly controlled by Paschoalotto/Bauru. America was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game, while America only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded America 49-23 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paschoalotto/Bauru players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by America's players. 26 personal fouls committed by America helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Paschoalotto/Bauru went down to sixth position due to points difference. America lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost.
