Franca - Osasco B. 90-84

Franca held off Osasco to sweep the quarterfinal series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Osasco B. won fourth quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Osasco B. outrebounded Vivo/Franca 40-27 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Osasco B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Antonio Ferreira (200-94) scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) chipped in 15 points and 8 assists during the contest. Five Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca's coach Helinho Garcia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Leonardo Fernandes (185-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds and the former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Mogi made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Mogi's coach Jorge Guerra used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175, college: Mount Olive) responded with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Anton Cook (188-95, college: SE Oklahoma) scored 18 points.

Paulistano outgunned America to seal their next round appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Paulistano. America managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. 33-year old point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-PG-84) put on an amazing game in the last round for B.Cearense and receives a Player of the Week award for round 7. He had the game-high 27 points adding five rebounds and five assists for B.Cearense in his team's victory, helping them to beat Vasco Da G. (#15, 1-5) 85-76. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and games ending by tiny margin. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Mogi (6-1) on the court of fourth ranked Caxias do Sul on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by Caxias do Sul 66-65.
