Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Brazilians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Gerson Santo (206-91, college: Colorado St., currently plays in Argentina). He could not help Weber Bahia (4-4) to beat San Lorenzo (8-0). Santo scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court. But the second-placed Weber Bahia (4-4) was badly defeated 88-69 on the road by the leading San Lorenzo in the Group D. It's Santo's first season with the team. This year he averages: 5.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 2FGP: 53.2% and FT: 57.1% in 12 games he played so far. Santo played for the Brazilian senior national team one years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Augusto Lima (207-91, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Aris (2-3) crushing them 83-61 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. Lima scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul (4-1) is placed in the Basketball Champions League. It was Besiktas' fourth consecutive victory in a row. Lima's overall stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 60.9%(14-23) and FT: 36.4%. He played for the Brazilian national team in 2016.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay). Passos was not able to help Malvin (8-1) in their last game. Despite his good performance Malvin lost 77-90 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#6) Hebraica. Passos had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds in 38 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Passos has relatively good stats this year: 10.4ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 59.6%(31-52) and FT: 61.8% in eight games. Former Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo starter played for the Brazilian national team seven years ago.

   #4. An experienced point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to secure a victory for Baskonia (1-5) in their game against Khimki (5-1) in the Euroleague. Despite his good performance in Friday night's game He scored 11 points and added 6 passes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Huertas' overall stats this year are: 5.8ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.5apg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas used to play for the Brazilian national team last year.

International shooting guard Vitor Benite (194-90, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) couldn't help UCAM Murcia (2-3) in their game against Pinar Karsiyaka (4-1) in the Basketball Champions League, despite his good performance last Wednesday. He scored 11 points in 32 minutes. But UCAM Murcia lost 91-96 at home to the higher-ranked (#26) Pinar Karsiyaka. It was UCAM Murcia's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Benite has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg and 2.0rpg in four games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team last year.

   #6. Center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Houston Rockets' victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (6-7) 117-113 in the NBA on Thursday night. Hilario scored 10 points. The Houston Rockets have quite an impressive 11-3 record this season. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Hilario has reliable stats this year: 8.2ppg and 3.0rpg. He is international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team one years ago.

International power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Chicago Bulls (2-9) in their game against the San Antonio Spurs (8-5) in the NBA. Felicio scored 8 points in 19 minutes. The Chicago Bulls (2-9) were crushed 133-94 in San Antonio by the Spurs. It was Bulls' fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Felicio's overall stats are: 3.5ppg and 4.1rpg in 11 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team last year.

   #8. Point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help RETAbet BB (3-5) in their game against Valencia Basket (7-1) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Fischer scored 5 points and added 4 passes in 14 minutes. RETAbet BB lost 77-81 on their home court in Bilbao to the second-ranked Valencia Basket. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Fischer's total stats are: 5.9ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.1apg in eight games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2015.

Former international center Vitor Faverani (212-88, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vitor Benite and both played together in the last Basketball Champions League game. Faverani couldn't help UCAM Murcia (2-3) in their game against Pinar Karsiyaka (4-1). He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Faverani scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. UCAM Murcia was defeated 96-91 on their home court in Murcia by the higher-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#26). Faverani has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 2.3rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team four years ago.

   #10. Forward Matao de Souza (201-86, college: Idaho, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help BMS Skovlunde (1-7) in their game against Randers (3-3) in the Danish Ligaen, despite his very good performance in Thursday night's game. de Souza was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was his first game for BMS Skovlunde this season. But BMS Skovlunde lost 62-76 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#4) Randers. de Souza is a former university international player as eight years ago he still played for the Brazilian national team.

   #11. International point guard Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Utah Jazz in their game against the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. He recorded only 4 points. His team was defeated 104-97 in the NBA. This season Neto averages just 2.7ppg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team last year.

   #12. Former international small forward Jonathan Tavernari (197-87, college: BYU, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Banco di Srd in their game against Juventus in the Basketball Champions League. Tavernari cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points in 6 minutes on the court. His team lost 85-90. This year Tavernari averages just 1.5ppg in two games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former U19 international center Felipe Braga (213-94, currently plays in Argentina) helped Parque Sur win their game against the fifth-ranked Ciclista 78-68 in the Argentinian TNA (second division) in Wednesday night's game. Braga recorded 9 points and blocked 3 blocks. Braga has averaged so far 4.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team four years ago.

   #14. Former international center Lucas Nogueira (213-92, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Toronto Raptors in a victory against the New Orleans Pelicans 122-118 in the NBA last Thursday. Nogueira scored only 2 points in 1 minutes on the court. Nogueira has averaged so far 5.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.8bpg in nine games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2011.

   #15. Former international guard Carlos Cobos (193-88, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams CB Granada in their game against Myrtia in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division), despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. Cobos scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. But his team was edged 76-73. Cobos has averaged so far 6.9ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.3spg in eight games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team seven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Rodrigo Goncalves (203-F-87, currently plays in Argentina) could not help Ciclista (3-3) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Goncalves' good performance Ciclista (#5) was defeated 78-68 on the road by the higher-ranked Parque Sur (#4) in the Center South group. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds (made all of his six free throws). Goncalves has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.2ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.3apg.

   #2. Experienced Sidnei De Santana (216-C-83, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Fontedoso Carrefour (4-4) in their last game. Despite De Santana's very good performance Fontedoso Carrefour was badly defeated 79-63 in Alicante by the second-ranked HLA Alicante. He was the top scorer with 18 points. De Santana also added 9 rebounds in 22 minutes. De Santana averaged so far 10.2ppg and 6.0rpg in six games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #3. Diego Soarez (205-C-87, currently plays in Uruguay) managed to help Urunday Universitario to win against the closely-ranked Olimpia (3-6) 84-81 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB on Tuesday night. Soarez recorded only 2 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Urunday Universitario (4-6) is placed ninth in the LUB. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Soarez averaged so far 10.5ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.1spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Uruguayan.

   #4. Kazuya Hatano (192-F-82, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Shimane Magic (4-11) in their game against Shiga L-Stars (8-7) in the Japanese B1 League. Hatano cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points. Shimane Magic (#5) was defeated 71-65 in Shiga by the higher-ranked L-Stars (#3) in the West group. It was Shimane Magic's seventh consecutive loss in a row. Hatano has averaged so far 4.5ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.4apg. He has both Brazilian and Japanese nationalities.

   #5. Joao Gallina (192-SF-94, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to a CAB Madeira's victory against the seventh-ranked FC Porto Ferpinta (4-4) 90-83 in the Portuguese LPB on Saturday night. Gallina recorded only 4 points in 21 minutes. CAB Madeira (4-1) is placed third in the LPB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Gallina has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in seven games. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and Portuguese.

   #6. Clement Faroux (188-G-93, currently plays in France) was the major contributor in Lorient's victory against the 12th-ranked SAP Vaucluse 75-58 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. Faroux scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. Faroux has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.2apg and 1.8spg in nine games. He holds both Brazilian and French passports. Despite Faroux's Brazilian nationality, he previously played for the French U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #7. Angelo Guaccio (193-F/G-98, currently plays in Italy) helped Piacenza win their game against the fifth-ranked Crema 72-63 in the Italian Serie B (third division) on Sunday night. Guaccio scored only 3 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Guaccio has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 1.9rpg.

   #8. Gabriel de Oliveira (207-PF-97, currently plays in Germany) helped Iserlohn win their game against the seventh-ranked Giessen 46ers II 73-68 in the German ProB (third division) last Saturday. He scored only 2 points. de Oliveira has averaged so far 6.6ppg and 2.8rpg. He holds both Brazilian and German passports.

Wolfpack/BMS (Ligaen) signed 31-year old Brazilian forward Matao de Souza (201-98kg-86, college: Idaho) from Stevnsgade BBK. In three Ligaen games in Denmark he had 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg this season. The last season de Souza played at Koge BK Coyotes (1st Division).
