Kleon Penn (ex Guayama) agreed terms with Metros de Santiago - Aug 3, 2016

Defending champion Metros de Santiago (LNB) inked 30-year old British V.Islands international center Kleon Penn (213-127kg-86, college: Mc Neese State, agency: Paris Global Sports). He played in the summer at Brujos de Guayama in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 41 games he recorded 6.4ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.7bpg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com Puerto Rican BSN All-Defensive Team. The last season Penn played at Trotamundos in LPB where in 15 games he averaged 5.5ppg, 4.6rpg and 2.3bpg.
Among other achievements Penn's team made it to the Puerto Rican BSN Semifinals in 2015. He received also Latinbasket.com Puerto Rican BSN All-Domestic Players Team award back in 2013.
Penn represented British Virgin Islands at the CBC Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) last year. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 4 games: 6.5ppg, 6.3rpg, Blocks-3 (3.0bpg), FGP: 56.3%, FT: 57.1%.
Penn is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Dominican Rep., Mexico (Fuerza Regia, Soles and Potros), Morocco, NBA (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Venezuela (Toros).
Worth to mention Penn played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him to get the job in pro basketball.
He attended Mc Neese State until 2009 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
Penn's game is described as: Kleon Penn is a good defender and shot blocker. He has vastly improved his offensive skills. He is rapidly becoming one of the best defenders in the world. He was voted top defender in the very tough Puerto Rican league for 2011. He is ready to play at any level.
