ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - As the Hon Julian Fraser/Save the Seed Basketball League continued on Saturday September 17, 2016 at the Save the Seed Energy Centre, there were wins for Swaggas, Next, Pure Playaz and Bayside Blazers.
Swaggas squeeze past Hi Speed

The Swaggas got action underway in the Junior Division with a 19-18 victory over Hi Speed, led by Zaclory Luke's six points. Kymal Pancho added four and Raphael Singh three, whilst Hi Speed got six points from Javon Wattley and five a piece from Khalique Brewley and Miquel Marshall.

Next thump Community One

Next then beat up on the youthful Community One, 88-57, thanks mainly to a much larger presence under the basket which limited Community One to long range efforts and little chance of recycling the ball from rebounds.

However, Next also have plenty of talent in their ranks and were led on the basketfest by Kilven M. Samuel, who scored 32 points with nine rebounds and seven steals. Clint Weston added 20 points with twelve rebounds, Tyler Cameron fourteen with eleven rebounds and Eustace 'Boss' Freeman thirteen with also eleven rebounds.

Community One's top scorer was Dekembe Parson with thirteen points, whilst Curtis Brown scored twelve, Tamell Jacob nine with twelve rebounds and Timron Nickie seven with fourteen rebounds.

Bayside Blazers too hot for Red Zone

The Bayside Blazers rounded out the night's games, after Pure Playaz beat Splash Brothers, 105-104, with a rout of Red Zone, 111-69.

Tavon J. Phillip notched twenty-five points with twelve rebounds, Dextroy D. Manswell twenty-four with twelve rebounds, Ryan R. Alfred thirteen points and ten each for Kyle L. Abraham and McKenzie L. K. Baltimore

Nathaniel 'Nat Malone topped the statistics for Red Zone with nineteen points, 7 rebounds and Jerome Malone hit fourteen points, Reynaldo Smith thirteen, Zaniel Joseph eleven while Deshawn Douglas grabbed eleven rebounds.
