ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed Basketball League concludes the regular season games tonight, Friday October 14, 2016, with two games that will still have a bearing on who claims what spots in the standings and who goes home.
Only one team is officially out of contention for a place in the play offs, Community One in the East, and the Friday night games begin with Pure Playaz against Warrias, which will decide the next team to fall.

A loss for the Warrias and they will become the first team from the West to be eliminated, whilst the win for the Playaz puts them in a three-way tie in the East for second place, along with Splash Brothers and We Dem Boyz.

Pure Playaz stay alive

Pure Playaz kept their hopes alive with a 91-69 victory over Community One on Wednesday night, October 12, 2016 led by 26 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals by Sean 'Chino' Woods. Tyrelle David added 22 points with 14 rebounds and Nixon Hamilton secured 13 rebounds.

Community One, who admitted they are building a team for the future, got 26 points with 14 rebounds from Tamel Jacob and 21 points from Dekembe Parsons.

The Splash Brothers also secured a victory on Wednesday with a 91-80 triumph over the Starz.

Shamoi Dagou notched 23 points, Abrey Daniel 21 and Ashfield Frett 17 with 15 rebounds, whilst for the Starz, Lestin Wiltshire had 22 points 11 rebounds, Kasean Wylie 20 points and Kimron Telemaque 13.

The method of then deciding the final placings will come into force with the fourth place team facing Next on Saturday.

Mind you, a loss by the Playaz still gives them a chance of post season glory as they would then be in another three-way tie, this time with the Starz and Winning Mentality, for the fourth and final spot in the play offs.

Must win game for Avengers

Whatever the outcome of the first game, the Avengers then face a must win encounter with Momentum, who currently sit second in the West, behind potential Division Champs, the Bayside Blazers.

If Avengers win then they will finish in fourth place and effectively knock out Red Zone as well as the Warrias. However, a win for Momentum not only gives them a share of top spot, but also condemns the Avengers to a two or possibly three-way tie for the final spot in the play offs with Red Zone (and Warrias possibly).

Bayside Blazers win rematch with West Gunners

The highly anticipated rematch between 2014 champs Bayside Blazers and a full strength 2015 champions West Gunners, who are already assured a place in the play offs, possibly as the third seed, again went in favour of the Blazers, 108-95.

The Gunners will now face either the Blazers or Momentum in a tricky first game on Sunday night.

Franklyn L. Penn Jr top scored with 29 points for the Blazers, Jevon K. Serrant notched 28. Tavon J. Phillip 18 with 15 rebounds and Dextroy D. Manswell 15 with 13 rebounds.

Douron Phillip led the Gunners with 24 points and 15 rebounds, Ray D. Victor finished with 23 points, Romain Minott 15 and Nigel Carey finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
