Puerto Rican National team triumphed at home CBC championship. They handled Trinidad and Tobago in the title decider and clinched the top spot. Trinidad kept it close in the first half but Cynthia Valentin (173-G-84, college: Indiana) spurred Puerto Rico to a 14:0 run in the third quarter which saw hosts to clear off for good.

Puerto Rico - Trinidad and Tobago 67:43 Puerto Rican National team triumphed at home CBC championship. They handled Trinidad and Tobago in the title decider and clinched the top spot. Trinidad kept it close in the first half but Cynthia Valentin (173-G-84, college: Indiana) spurred Puerto Rico to a 14:0 run in the third quarter which saw hosts to clear off for good. Cynthia Valentin finished the game with 30 points for Puerto Rico. Millie Martinez provided 7 points and 5 boards for the winners.
Dominican Republic defeated Barbados 84:45 to grab Bronze medals. The win also means Dominican Republic qualified for the 2008 Centrobasket tournament.

Trinidad and Tobago thrashed Barbados to became the first finalist of the CBC championship in Morovis. They dominated the game right from the start and enjoyed a 33:24 advantage at halftime. Barbados simply stopped after the intermission and allowed Trinidad cruise to an overall success.

Trinidad and Tobago - Barbados 82:37 Trinidad and Tobago thrashed Barbados to became the first finalist of the CBC championship in Morovis. They dominated the game right from the start and enjoyed a 33:24 advantage at halftime. Barbados simply stopped after the intermission and allowed Trinidad cruise to an overall success. Barbados nailed just 4 points in the third stanza and were outscored 4:34 to fall behind 20-point deficit. They could never come back into this one and lost the game. Mahalia Simpson (-76) led Trinidad with 20 points. Pietra Gay (-F/C-74) had 18 points and 6 boards. Jamila Griffith (183-G/F-82, college: Md-Eastern Shore) answered with 12 points for Barbados.

Puerto Rico - Dominican Republic 73:65 Puerto Rico joined Trinidad team in the CBC championship Final. They managed to overcome Dominican Republic in the semifinal clash. The victory means both Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago qualified for the 2008 Centrobasket tournament. The third team will be decided in the Bronze medals battle between Barbados and Dominican Republic.

Trinidad and Tobago - Virgin Islands 69:45 Trinidad and Tobago team completed the preliminary round at the CBC championship with perfect record. They overcame US Virgin Islands on the last day of action and remained on top of Group A. Trinidad thus qualified for the semifinal stage. They will take on Babrbados today. Virgin Islands needed a victory to advance into the next round and they started the game pretty bravely. They managed to dominate the starting frame and rolled to an impressive 19:9 lead early in the game. However Virgin Islands could not keep the pace. Trinidad proved the difference in the second quarter storming past theer opponents 25:4 to surge ahead 34:23 at halftime. Attacking basketball continued in the third term as Trinidad players poured basket from all ranges and secured a 54:38 gap after three frames. Virgin Islands run out of steam in the final stanza and failed to perform any sort of comeback. Trecha Jackson-Kennedy (-82) led Trinidad and Tobago with 23 poitns and 8 boards. Pietra Gay (-F/C-74) and Rhea Codia added 11 points apiece for the winners. Yanique Javois (176-G-86, college: St.Louis) nailed 14 points for Virgin Islands. Damarah Rhymer (175-G-84) had 11 points and 7 boards in a loss. Virgin Islands outrebounded Trinidad 51:39 but lacked accuracy from the field. They managed just 27% of field goals, while Trinidad responded with 37% accuracy. Virgin Islands also committed as many as 30 turnovers.

Dominican Republic - Bahamas 82:59 Dominican Republic thrashed Bahamas and qualified to the CBC championship semis. They ensured 2-1 record and the second spot in Group A ladder. They will now play against Puerto Rico in today's semifinal. The teams stayed close throughout the first quarter and finished it all square 14:14. However Dominican Republic cleared off in the second term. They outscored Bahamas 31:11 to mark a 45:25 dominance at halftime. Bahamas managed to cut the deficit by 2 points in the third stanza but it was as far as they could get. Dominican Republic wisely secured needed victory at the end and celebrated their second success at the tournament. Five Dominican Republic players scored in double figures. Andreina Paniagua (-79) and Johanna Morton (-88) paced Dominican Republic with 17 points. Sugeiry Monsac contributed 14 points and 10 boards for the winners. Linda Pierre (-82) had 15 points and 7 boards for Bahamas. Diasti Delancy (-85) added 14 points in defeat. Dominican Republic had an edge under the rims outrebounding their opponents 40:28.
