The Dominos Pizza Mens Basketball League Division I got under on Cayman Islands. Seven teams hit the road for fourteen rounds marathon. The most renowned local squad George Town Sports Club started their campaign slowly. They suffered two consecutive defeats and appeared at the bottom of the ladder. First GTSC were narrowly nipped by Silver Bullets 66:67 at home court. Josh Cotterell (-G) scored 15 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the charge. Kwei General nailed 15 points for the winners. Antonio Thompson (-G) responded with game-high 32 points and 9 rebounds for GTSC.
In round 3 GTSC suffered the second loss in a row as they were tamed by Wolves 72:83. Antonio Thompson once again looked solid with 22 points and 9 rebounds but could not rescue his side from sinking. Gary McLaughlin (-G) tallied 24 points and 15 rebounds in the victory. Dwight O'Garro (-C) had 25 points as Wolves toppled the ladder at 3-0 record.
Esso Blazers gained two wins at the start of the championship. They defeated Colombia and Tarheels in the second and third rounds respectively. Samuel O'Garro (-F) was impressive against Tarheels as he notched 28 points, 14 boards, 7 steals and 5 assists. Bosko Tomzsezik (-G) delivered 16 points and 9 boards for Esso Blazers in the victory over Colombia.   



WB Financial boosts youth basketball - 4 months ago
Victor O'Garro, better known as Coach Voot, technical director for basketball in the Cayman Islands, has received a sponsorship check for $1,500 from Virginia Czarnocki of WB Financial for the development of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association Under-19 league. The CIBA U-19 games are played at Clifton Hunter High School on Saturdays from 3 p.m. There are four male teams and four female teams participating in the league. Wesleyan Academy wins trophy in Blue Iguana Basketball Jamboree - 1 Year ago
Wesleyan Christian Academy took home the championship trophy from Cayman International School's annual Blue Iguana International Basketball Jamboree as the reigning champions for the fifth year in a row. Triple C finished second and Cayman Prep was third after defeating Aruba, who finished in fourth place. Jorge Ebanks (ex Cheshire P.) agreed terms with Schwenningen - 2 Years ago
wiha Panthers Villingen-Schwenningen (Regionalliga) inked 29-year old British-Caymanian small forward Jorge Ebanks (185-86, agency: KSG). He already started the season at Cheshire Phoenix in British BBL league. In four games he recorded 9.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.8apg and 1.3spg this season. Ebanks also spent pre-season at London Lions (BBL) in United Kingdom earlier that year. In three games he averaged 5.3ppg, 1.0apg and 1.0spg.
