The Dominos Pizza Mens Basketball League Division I got under on Cayman Islands. Seven teams hit the road for fourteen rounds marathon. The most renowned local squad George Town Sports Club started their campaign slowly. They suffered two consecutive defeats and appeared at the bottom of the ladder. First GTSC were narrowly nipped by Silver Bullets 66:67 at home court. Josh Cotterell (-G) scored 15 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the charge. Kwei General nailed 15 points for the winners. Antonio Thompson (-G) responded with game-high 32 points and 9 rebounds for GTSC.
In round 3 GTSC suffered the second loss in a row as they were tamed by Wolves 72:83. Antonio Thompson once again looked solid with 22 points and 9 rebounds but could not rescue his side from sinking. Gary McLaughlin (-G) tallied 24 points and 15 rebounds in the victory. Dwight O'Garro (-C) had 25 points as Wolves toppled the ladder at 3-0 record.
Esso Blazers gained two wins at the start of the championship. They defeated Colombia and Tarheels in the second and third rounds respectively. Samuel O'Garro (-F) was impressive against Tarheels as he notched 28 points, 14 boards, 7 steals and 5 assists. The Warriors defeated the defending champions - Sol Blazers at Clifton Hunter High School Gymnasium last night. The Blazers came out firing on all cylinders, jumping out to an early lead; but the Warriors switched their defense to keep the Blazers off the glass: it paid off! Back came the warriors with a reckless abandon, erasing a 12 point deficit. From there, both teams would trade baskets and runs the entire game, but the Warriors would take the lead with 2 minutes to go and not look b...   [read more]

Sol Blazers remain undefeated - 1 month ago
The defending champions are continuing the dominance throughout the National Men's League 2017 Season. Off season trades saw the exit of started Deandre Simpson (196-F-90, college: Webber Intern.) (who went to the Warriors) and Davie Cotterell (who went to the Silver Bullets) but the Veteran Kevin Maxwell (80) and Triple Double Monster Shaad O'Garro (199-F/G-90, col...   [read more]
