Cayman Islands Basketball Technical Director Coach Victor O'Garro has promised good things to come in basketball with the possibility of NBA players coming down to shoot hoops at a new indoor facility.

He said this as the new court facility, situated on the compound of Cayman International School, stood to attract NBA players who once visited the indoor facility that was once situated in the Lions Centre.

This is a new beginning era in basketball; we had a situation since hurricane Ivan destroyed the indoor facilities, that we had never had an international game in the country. With the birth of this facility we can now have the coming of NBA teams.

The Technical Director hinted that one of the teams would be coming to the Cayman Islands, although he did not provide more details since plans were still at a formative stage.

I am already in contact with Jamaica. We used to have before, one year annual visits, where they would come in the year and we would go in the following year. We are re-introducing this possibly next year and youre going to see more action.

What youre going to see soon is once this facility is available, international flavour will return to the Cayman Islands.

The Coach said that with the coming of international teams to the Cayman Islands, basketball
will soar to great heights.

In the earliest years we had NBA players coming to play in the Lions Centre. NBA players coming to Cayman to play is not new, however now that we are using this indoor facility you will see more coming, he said.

Though we had a makeshift facility, they participated and had fun; now that we can bring NBA players in an air-conditioned court we will see more in the near future.

In the indoor league, ESSO Blazers lead the standings having won three of their games. Wolves have lost one game and are second. Below are the standings.
