CD Valdivia - CDU Concepcion 83-79

CD Valdivia are Liga Nacional champions! They celebrated the fourth consecutive victory over CDU Concepcion in the Finals and clinched the trophy. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-79. Deportivo Valdivia dominated on the defensive end, holding Universidad de Concepcion to just 6 points in third quarter. They made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Universidad de Concepcion helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. The former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international forward Claudio Naranjo (191-87) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
