Top ranked Los Leones (11-3) recorded its third loss on the court of second ranked Osorno Basquetbol on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Osorno Basquetbol 89-82. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Osorno Basquetbol outrebounded Los Leones 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) fired 29 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 17 rebounds. American swingman Brandon Bowdry (200-88, college: E.Michigan, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Osorno Basquetbol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-5 record having just two point less than leader Los Leones. Los Leones at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. Osorno Basquetbol are looking forward to face Universidad Catolica (#8) in Santiago in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Los Leones will play on the road against Las Animas (#4) in Valdivia and are hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Puerto Montt and 4th placed Espanol de Talca where Puerto Montt (6-6) won against Espanol de Talca (7-3) on the road 81-71. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. Louis Munks contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for Espanol de Talca. Despite that victory Puerto Montt went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Espanol de Talca at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Puerto Montt will play against higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol de Talca will play against Deportivo Valdivia (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Concepcion, where higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (7-4) lost to ninth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (3-6) in a road game 72-79 on Saturday. Paul Harrison stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Durrell Summers responded with 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Despite that victory Universidad de Concepcion went down to tenth position due to points difference. Loser Deportivo Valdivia dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will meet at home bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (#12) in the next round. Deportivo Valdivia will play against Espanol de Talca and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Ancud. Local AB Ancud (6-10) outscored 10th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (4-12) 91-70. Reginald Larry nailed 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Tinguiririca S.F.'s coach Cipriano Nunez gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. AB Ancud moved-up to sixth place. Tinguiririca S.F. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. AB Ancud's next round opponent will be Puente Alto (#7) at home. Tinguiririca S.F. will play against CD Castro and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 13 bottom-ranked CDU Catolica was defeated by Las Animas in Valdivia 79-75. CD Castro beat Puente Alto at home 89-76.
The best stats of 13th round was 19 points and 16 rebounds by Tyrone Lee of CD Castro.

Las Animas - CDU Catolica 79-75

There was no surprise in Valdivia where 12th ranked Universidad Catolica (4-11) was defeated by sixth ranked Las Animas (8-5) 79-75. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Las Animas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Dominic Cheek (198-91, college: Villanova) nailed 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) accounted for 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward John Dickson (198-90, college: Sacramento St.) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Brandon Crawford (201-84, college: Albion) added 16 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Universidad Catolica in the defeat. Four Universidad Catolica players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Las Animas moved-up to fourth place. Universidad Catolica at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Las Animas' next round opponent will be league's leader Los Leones in Quilpue and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Universidad Catolica will play on the road against the league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol (#2) and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game when third ranked CD Castro (9-7) defeated at home 8th ranked Puente Alto (5-9) 89-76. CD Castro dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Puente Alto's 28. They outrebounded Puente Alto 41-23 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. CD Castro players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 11 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Five CD Castro players scored in double figures. CD Castro's coach M De La Fuente allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) came up with 23 points and international forward Antonio Pinedo (195-94) added 13 points respectively for Puente Alto in the defeat. CD Castro maintains third place with 9-7 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Los Leones. Puente Alto at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. CD Castro's next round opponent will be Tinguiririca S.F. (#9) in San Fernando which should be theoretically an easy game. Puente Alto will play on the road against AB Ancud and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

We should mention about the upset which took place in Concepcion, where higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (7-4) lost to ninth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (3-6) in a road game 72-79 on Saturday. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds.
