An interesting game for Los Leones (12-3) which played road game in Valdivia against 4th ranked Las Animas (8-6). First ranked Los Leones had an easy win 87-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Las Animas. It was a great shooting night for Los Leones especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. American swingman Brandon Bowdry (200-88, college: E.Michigan, agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Evandro Arteaga (178-83) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Los Leones' coach Claudio Jorquera used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for Las Animas. Los Leones maintains first position with 12-3 record. Las Animas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Los Leones are looking forward to face Universidad Catolica (#9) in Santiago in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Las Animas will play on the road against AB Ancud (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 14: bottom-ranked Puerto Montt was beaten by CDU Concepcion on the road 66-59. Osorno won against CDU Catolica on its own court 75-61. Tinguiririca S.F. unfortunately lost to CD Castro in a road game 61-78. AB Ancud managed to beat Puente Alto at home 81-72. CD Valdivia was defeated by CDE Talca on the opponent's court 90-85.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists by Terrance Thomas of CD Castro.

CDU Concepcion - Puerto Montt 66-59

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (4-6) beat at home bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (6-7) 66-59 on Sunday. They outrebounded Puerto Montt 39-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Humberto Carrizo (202-86) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Puerto Montt. Universidad de Concepcion moved-up to eighth place. Puerto Montt at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Universidad de Concepcion are looking forward to face Tinguiririca S.F. (#10) in San Fernando in the next round. Puerto Montt will play on the road against Deportivo Valdivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very expected game when 8th ranked Universidad Catolica (4-12) lost on the road to second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (12-5) 75-61 on Sunday. American players dominated the game. Forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward John Dickson (198-90, college: Sacramento St.) replied with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Brandon Crawford (201-84, college: Albion) added 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Universidad Catolica. Universidad Catolica's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osorno Basquetbol have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-5 record having just two point less than leader Los Leones. Universidad Catolica at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. Osorno Basquetbol are looking forward to face CD Castro (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Universidad Catolica will play against the league's leader Los Leones (#1) in Quilpue and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
