There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Nacional.

The most important game in the last round took place in Valdivia between second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (13-6) and eleventh ranked Deportivo Valdivia (9-5) on Saturday night. Osorno Basquetbol was defeated by Deportivo Valdivia on the road 88-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Osorno Basquetbol. 25 personal fouls committed by Osorno Basquetbol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) produced 31 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with CDE Talca. Osorno Basquetbol at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valdivia Las Animas.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quilpue. First ranked Los Leones faced 3rd ranked CD Castro. Host Los Leones (14-3) smashed guests from Castro (10-9) 101-76. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Eduardo Marechal (186-85) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Brandon Bowdry contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for CD Castro. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Los Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-3 record. CD Castro at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Los Leones will play against AB Ancud (#5) at home in the next round. CD Castro will play against Universidad Catolica in Santiago and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game where host Puente Alto (#8) won against 5th ranked Espanol de Talca 81-75 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Jovanni Diaz who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Dwight McCombs responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Puente Alto maintains eighth position with 6-10 record. Loser Espanol de Talca dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with CD Valdivia. Puente Alto will meet at home higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Espanol de Talca will play against Tinguiririca S.F. in San Fernando and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Puerto Montt managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Las Animas 88-58. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 30-point difference proves that Puerto Montt was well-prepared to that game. The winners were led by Louis Munks who scored that evening 19 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Montt maintains twelfth position with 7-8 record. Las Animas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Puerto Montt's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

In the last two games of round 16 AB Ancud defeated CDU Catolica in a road game 100-85. Tinguiririca S.F. was beaten by CDU Concepcion at home 74-78.
The best stats of 16th round was 37 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists by Juan Luis Abeiro of Tinguiririca S.F..

Puerto Montt - Las Animas 88-58

Bottom-ranked Puerto Montt managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Las Animas 88-58. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 30-point difference proves that Puerto Montt was well-prepared to that game. They also forced 20 Las Animas turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Julius Holt (187-85) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds by American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) did not help to save the game for Las Animas. His fellow American import guard Dominic Cheek (198-91, college: Villanova) added 23 points and 7 rebounds for lost side.

Universidad Catolica's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. AB Ancud have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place.
