The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Los Leones (17-6) on the court of third ranked Universidad de Concepcion on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Universidad de Concepcion 100-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Los Leones. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) scored 27 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Diego Silva (186-93) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international point guard Evandro Arteaga (178-83) responded with 28 points. Universidad de Concepcion have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-7 record having seven points less than leader Los Leones. Los Leones at the other side still keep top place with six games lost. Universidad de Concepcion are looking forward to face Universidad Catolica (#11) in Santiago in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Los Leones will play on the road against Espanol de Talca (#7) and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (17-7) against fifth ranked AB Ancud (13-11) on Saturday night. Host Osorno Basquetbol was defeated by AB Ancud in a tough game in Osorno 61-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Osorno Basquetbol. Venezuelan swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Pedro Sandoval supported him with 15 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by American center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Osorno Basquetbol. Osorno Basquetbol's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AB Ancud moved-up to fourth place. Osorno Basquetbol at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. AB Ancud will play against Las Animas (#5) in Valdivia in the next round. Osorno Basquetbol will play at home against CD Castro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Valdivia was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers CD Castro (12-11) played at the court of sixth ranked Las Animas (12-10). Las Animas defeated CD Castro 85-71 on Saturday. Terrell Taylor fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Las Animas' coach Jorge Luis Alvarez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Terrance Thomas produced 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Las Animas moved-up to fifth place. Loser CD Castro dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Las Animas will meet at home higher ranked AB Ancud (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CD Castro will play against the league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol and hope to secure a win.
Eighth ranked Deportivo Valdivia (11-9) crushed at home 12th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (5-18) by 35 points 105-70, which is the biggest margin this round. Worth to mention a great performance of Durrell Summers who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CDE Talca. Tinguiririca S.F. lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's next round opponent will be Puente Alto (#10) at home. Tinguiririca S.F. will play against Puerto Montt and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 22 Puente Alto won against Puerto Montt on the opponent's court 73-67. CDE Talca managed to outperform CDU Catolica in a home game 71-56.

Four AB Ancud players scored in double figures.
