The Regular Season in Liga Nacional is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Top ranked Los Leones (20-8) recorded its eighth loss on the court of tenth ranked Puente Alto on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Puente Alto 77-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Los Leones. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds. American swingman Brandon Bowdry (200-88, college: E.Michigan, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Puente Alto maintains tenth position with 10-17 record. Los Leones at the other side still keep top place with eight games lost. They share the position with Osorno. Puente Alto are looking forward to face higher ranked Espanol de Talca (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Los Leones will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Osorno. Seventh ranked Las Animas (14-13) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Osorno Basquetbol (20-8) 71-69 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Osorno Basquetbol. Osorno Basquetbol's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Las Animas moved-up to fifth place. Osorno Basquetbol at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. They share it with Los Leones. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Valdivia was also quite interesting. Third ranked AB Ancud (17-11) played at the court of 6th ranked Deportivo Valdivia (13-11). AB Ancud managed to secure a 8-point victory 88-80 on Wednesday. Reginald Larry had a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners. Durrell Summers responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists. AB Ancud have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-11 record having just three points less than leader Los Leones. Loser Deportivo Valdivia keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with CDE Talca. AB Ancud will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Deportivo Valdivia will play against Puerto Montt (#9) and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Puerto Montt. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked CD Castro (12-16) to ninth ranked Puerto Montt (11-14) 82-79 on Wednesday evening. Mike Phillips notched 27 points to lead the effort. Puerto Montt maintains ninth position with 11-14 record. CD Castro lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Puerto Montt's next round opponent will be higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (#7) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.

Tinguiririca S.F. maintains eleventh position with 7-20 record. Loser Universidad Catolica stay dead last with 22 lost games. Tinguiririca S.F. will face higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

In the last game of round 26 CDE Talca was defeated by CDU Concepcion in a road game 91-77.
The best stats of 26th round was 27 points and 15 rebounds by Dwight McCombs of CDE Talca.

Osorno - Las Animas 69-71

Important game to mention about took place in Osorno. Seventh ranked Las Animas (14-13) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Osorno Basquetbol (20-8) 71-69 on Wednesday evening. Puerto Montt - CD Castro 82-79

A very interesting game took place in Puerto Montt. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked CD Castro (12-16) to ninth ranked Puerto Montt (11-14) 82-79 on Wednesday evening. Strangely CD Castro outrebounded Puerto Montt 46-18 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) notched 27 points to lead the effort and Francisco Jara (192-87) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) did not help to save the game for CD Castro. His fellow American import forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt maintains ninth position with 11-14 record. CD Castro lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
