The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Liga Nacional took place in Puente Alto. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Puente Alto (10-18) to sixth ranked Espanol de Talca (14-11) 85-84 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Puente Alto. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-84. Espanol de Talca looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Samuel Bravo (194-82) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for Puente Alto. Espanol de Talca moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CD Valdivia. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. Espanol de Talca is looking forward to face higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Puente Alto will play against Universidad de Concepcion (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Valdivia. Seventh ranked Deportivo Valdivia (14-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Puerto Montt (11-15) 92-89 on Thursday evening. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Charles Rosenberg helped adding 11 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Deportivo Valdivia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CDE Talca. Puerto Montt at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Valdivia to the arena Las Animas.
The game between 11th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (7-21) and fourth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (17-8) in San Fernando on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Concepcion beat Tinguiririca S.F. 87-74. It was a quality performance for Paul Harrison who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). Juan Luis Abeiro came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for Tinguiririca S.F. in the defeat. Universidad de Concepcion have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser Tinguiririca S.F. keeps the eleventh position with 21 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will meet Espanol de Talca (#5) on the road in the next round. Tinguiririca S.F. will play against the league's leader Los Leones (#1) in Quilpue and hope to secure a win.

Important game to mention about took place in Valdivia. Seventh ranked Deportivo Valdivia (14-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Puerto Montt (11-15) 92-89 on Thursday evening. Puerto Montt was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 49-42 second half run of Deportivo Valdivia. They made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Puerto Montt only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded Puerto Montt 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Puerto Montt was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game.
