An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ancud. Second ranked Osorno Basquetbol faced 4th placed AB Ancud. Guests from Osorno (21-9) defeated host AB Ancud (17-13) 76-66. The game was mostly controlled by Osorno Basquetbol. AB Ancud managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded AB Ancud 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. AB Ancud's coach Ivan Gallardo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osorno Basquetbol maintains second place with 21-9 record behind leader Los Leones. AB Ancud at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Osorno Basquetbol are looking forward to face CD Castro (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AB Ancud will play against Las Animas (#7) in Valdivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Los Leones delivered the twenty second victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Espanol de Talca (16-12) 88-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Espanol de Talca. American forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Ignacio Carrion contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for Espanol de Talca. Los Leones maintains first place with 22-8 record. Espanol de Talca at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Los Leones will play against Universidad de Concepcion (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Espanol de Talca will play against Tinguiririca S.F. in San Fernando and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Other games of round 29 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Tinguiririca S.F. defeated Puente Alto in San Fernando 81-65. CD Valdivia beat CD Castro at home 102-92. Las Animas lost to Puerto Montt on the opponent's court 74-92.
The best stats of 29th round was 30 points and 12 rebounds by Juan Luis Abeiro of Tinguiririca S.F..

CDU Concepcion - CDU Catolica 83-65

The game with biggest result difference took place in Concepcion. Local Universidad de Concepcion (19-9) beat 12th ranked Universidad Catolica (6-24) 83-65 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Universidad de Concepcion led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Diego Silva (186-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward John Dickson (198-90, college: Sacramento St.) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Brandon Crawford (201-84, college: Albion) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universidad de Concepcion maintains third place with 19-9 record having five points less than leader Los Leones. Universidad Catolica lost third consecutive game. Leader Los Leones delivered the twenty second victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Espanol de Talca (16-12) 88-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Espanol de Talca. It looked good early as Espanol de Talca took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Los Leones had a 27-21 second period charge getting the lead and Espanol de Talca was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-88. They outrebounded Espanol de Talca 46-31 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. International forward Ignacio Carrion (202-93) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-86) added 15 points and 8 assists in the effort for Espanol de Talca. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Puente Alto (10-20) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (8-22) 81-65 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-65. Tinguiririca S.F. made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game, while Puente Alto only scored three points from the stripe. Argentinian power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (196-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Venezuelan center Jose Juan Bravo (202-86, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 17 points. Las Animas managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Francisco Jara (192-87) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
