Louis Munks
There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Liga Nacional.

The most exciting game of round 30 in the Liga Nacional took place in Puerto Montt. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (17-12) to eighth ranked Puerto Montt (14-15) 86-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Deportivo Valdivia. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for Deportivo Valdivia. Puerto Montt have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Deportivo Valdivia at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Puerto Montt are looking forward to face higher ranked AB Ancud (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Deportivo Valdivia will play against the league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
An interesting game for Los Leones (23-8) which hosted in Quilpue 3rd ranked Universidad de Concepcion (19-10). First ranked Los Leones managed to get a 11-point victory 97-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Universidad de Concepcion. American swingman Brandon Bowdry (200-88, college: E.Michigan, agency: Inception Sports) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Darrol Jones chipped in 25 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Diego Silva (186-93) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Los Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-8 record. Universidad de Concepcion at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Los Leones will play against bottom-ranked Universidad Catolica (#12) in Santiago in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Universidad de Concepcion will play at home against Tinguiririca S.F. (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Valdivia was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked AB Ancud (18-13) played at the court of 7th ranked Las Animas (14-17). AB Ancud managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81 on Saturday. Francisco Centeno notched 22 points to lead the effort. AB Ancud's coach Ivan Gallardo used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by Terrell Taylor did not help to save the game for Las Animas. AB Ancud moved-up to fourth place. Las Animas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. AB Ancud will meet at home Puerto Montt (#7) in the next round. Las Animas will play against CD Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Espanol de Talca (16-13) and Tinguiririca S.F. (9-22), which took place in San Fernando. Higher ranked Espanol de Talca lost to eleventh ranked Tinguiririca S.F. in a road game 85-95. The best player for the winners was Juan Luis Abeiro who scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Tinguiririca S.F.'s coach Cipriano Nunez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tinguiririca S.F. maintains eleventh position with 9-22 record. Espanol de Talca at the other side keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Tinguiririca S.F.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#3) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

In the last two games of round 30 CD Castro was beaten by Osorno on the road 65-60. Bottom-ranked CDU Catolica lost to Puente Alto on its own court 73-77.

Tinguiririca S.F. - CDE Talca 95-85

Osorno - CD Castro 65-60

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (22-9) beat at home 9th ranked CD Castro (13-18) 65-60. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory.
