Osorno - Las Animas 92-80

Osorno outgunned Las Animas to advance into the semifinal stage of Liga Nacional. The game was mostly controlled by Osorno Basquetbol. Las Animas managed to win third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osorno Basquetbol made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Las Animas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Juan Fontena (196-87) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Osorno Basquetbol's coach R Isbej used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Franco Morales (179-92) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Aspire Sports) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

CD Valdivia - AB Ancud 89-95

AB Ancud upset CD Valdivia on the road to seal their semifinal appearance. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Deportivo Valdivia won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AB Ancud players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Deportivo Valdivia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Venezuelan swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five AB Ancud players scored in double figures. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) added 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Deportivo Valdivia.
