American Durrell Summers (193-SF-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Osorno and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 28-year old had a double-double of 56 points and twelve rebounds, while his team was edged out by Los Leones (#1, 12-7) 97-96. Osorno maintains the 6th position in their group in Chilean Liga Nacional. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Osorno have already lost 14 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Summers had a remarkable 61.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Osorno's top player in his first season with the team. Michigan State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Summers is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.6ppg. Summers is in league's top in and averages solid 56.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 38-year old American forward Terrence Shannon (203-F-79) of second-ranked CDE Talca. Shannon impressed basketball fans with 38 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for CDE Talca to edge the lower-ranked CD Castro (#5, 7-13) by 6 points 95-89. CDE Talca's second position in Conferencia Centro has not changed. His team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Shannon is a newcomer at CDE Talca and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#4). He also registered 9.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Devon Scott (206-F-94) of Puerto Montt (#4). Scott scored 26 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Puerto Montt, leading his team to a 92-79 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Puente Alto (#5, 8-11). The chances of Puerto Montt not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Centro, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Scott could try to bring Puerto Montt's a little bit higher in the standings. Scott has a very solid season. In 5 games in Chile he scored 19.2ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jonatan Machuca (182-PG-89) of AB Ancud - 27 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists
5. Lisandro Rasio (198-F-90) of Los Leones - 26 points, 24 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Javier Carter (203-C-91) of CD Valdivia - 25 points and 10 rebounds
7. Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-SG-88) of CDU Concepcion - 36 points and 6 rebounds
8. John A. Thomas (198-F-82) of Los Leones - 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Rakim Brown (198-F-91) of CD Castro - 30 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jerome Hill (198-F-94) of Puente Alto - 21 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
