A new proposal proposal for the pro-Basketball competitions has been released by the National Federation.
The Colombian National Federation has releases a new proposal in alliance with Go Sports for the development of two Leagues since the year 2013.
The proposal includes a first Championship to start on February 22 and 4 months long, theres not a schedule yet or a certain number of teams confirmed, but according insiders teams like Bukaros, Piratas and Cafeteros are making its arrangements to compete in this tournament.
A second tournament will be played in the second semester of the year, also 4 months and starting on August.
For the first tournament Go Sports announces a sponsorship from Directv.
There are several questions yet about the new organization, some questions as follows:
1-What will be the role of the teams in the board of directives?: the teams made public months ago their will to make a Clubs Association.
2-How is the league going to avoid the teams withdrawal within the league?, one of the most important concerns since many teams has withdraw from the cup before the end of the competions..
3-Will the regulations include a salaries policies or salaries cap?
4-Will the player remain as free agents after the end of the tournament?
Despite the questions , the proposal opens a new hope about the development of the professional Basketball in the country.
