Puerto Rican-Dominican Rep. Forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-F-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Academia, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22. The 28-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, six rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Condores (#6, 9-13) 94-82. It allowed Academia to consolidate first place in the Colombian Liga DirecTV. Academia have a solid 19-3 record. In the team's last game Rodriguez had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Academia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Campbell University star has very solid stats this year. Rodriguez is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.7ppg. Rodriguez is in league's top in and averages impressive 56.2% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was -year old American Titus Mims (201-F) of Aguilas. Mims had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Aguilas to another comfortable win 83-69 over slightly lower-ranked Piratas (#8, 3-19) being unquestionably team leader. Aguilas' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-14 record. Mims is one of the most experienced players at Aguilas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.6ppg (#2). He also registered 9.4 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward R.J. McGhee (198-F, agency: CGL Sports) of Halcones (#5). McGhee got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Halcones, leading his team to a 93-89 win against Sabios (10-12). The chances of Halcones ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, McGhee could help Halcones to bring them higher in the standings. McGhee has a great season in Colombia. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.8ppg (5th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Aramie Brooks (203-F/C-87) of Aguilas - 23 points and 12 rebounds 5. Dwayne Smith (198-F-89) of Academia - 24 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Stalin Ortiz (190-G-81) of Condores - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Antonio Davis (196-G/F-82) of Piratas - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Arnold Fripp (201-F-93) of Piratas - 18 points and 12 rebounds 9. Daniel Sapp (193-G) of Bucaros - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Juan Herrera (197-F-81) of Sabios - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Sure, you could love the sport or even bet on it. In fact, we know plenty of people who try out online betting with 12Bet. Here is the thing though, while betting on your favorite sport or even playing it is a great idea, there is a lot more that you can get out from it. And we will take a look at just a few of those things.
The Top Business Lessons From the Basketball Court
Get to know the importance of Timing:
Timing is everything. Your business strategies need to come out at a time when there are the maximum numbers of visitors who are potential customers as well.
Measure your success easily:
You would know just how important it is to use analytics. In basketball, if you are to succeed, you would need to anticipate your opposition actions. And you can do it if you have studied your opposition team well and know just what they are offering up their sleeves. You need all these to be based solely on facts and not assumptions so analytics is really important if you are looking to win basketball matches.
Similarly, in business, you need access to the right analytical tools. Use it to track engagements, clicks and performance of your ad. Use the data for more specific targeting.
Rotate and renew:
If something isn't working out, you will need to change your strategy. If your opposition team is getting stronger or they are exploring a loophole in your defense, you would need to change your strategy soon so that you can do some damage control when there is still some time.
This isn't something that we are telling just for the purpose of your basketball game; it applies to your business model too.
Just because one ad campaign was successful, doesn't mean you have to follow the same formula every time. People are always looking for something new. Add a new twist and see how that works. Always keep your ads relevant to your target audience.
Know Just Why the Right Aesthetics is Important
It is not just about winning in basketball but also ensuring fair play and ensuring that you have people supporting you. Similarly, when it comes to business, you need to play with the right aesthetics to bring in your audience.
Visual appeal, for instance, is the most important factor influencing the buying decisions of consumers and the most persuasive one. Colors are a means of non-verbal communication among people. Every color is associated with a certain feeling and products are packaged using colors that can trigger that feeling in the consumer. It is not just about physical products - it applied to web pages as well.
Several websites have had an increase in conversions by changing the color schemes of the various elements on the page especially the decision making buttons like sign-up or buy.
Which basketball business lesson do you think is the most important here?
