The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Academia (21-4) in Bucaramanga on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Bucaros (15-10) 81-69. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Academia. They outrebounded Academia 48-35 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Miguel Bermudez who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Venezuelan power forward Luis Julio (201-80) contributed with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Bucaros' coach Bernardo Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Cristian Arboleda (205-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for Academia. Bucaros maintains third place with 15-10 record having six points less than leader Academia. Academia at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Bucaros are looking forward to face Patriotas (#7) in Boyaca in the next round. Academia will play at home against Halcones (#5) and is hoping to win this game.

American forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City, agency: CGL Sports) stepped up and scored 23 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners and Jose Baquero chipped in 9 points and 17 rebounds. Halcones' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Halcones have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sabios. Cimarrones lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with nine games lost. Halcones will play against league's leader Academia in Montana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cimarrones will play at home against Condores and hope to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Piratas managed to get a fifth victory on Friday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Condores in Cundinamarca 105-97. Arnold Fripp nailed a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Stalin Ortiz came up with 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists for Condores in the defeat. Piratas maintains eighth place with 5-20 record. Condores lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Piratas will meet at home higher ranked Sabios (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Condores will play against the league's second-placed Cimarrones having rather not much hope for a victory.
The game between fourth ranked Sabios (13-12) and 7th ranked Patriotas (8-17) in Manizales ended with biggest points difference. Sabios outscored guests from Boyaca 68-45. Cory Bradford fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Coach Gaston Fernandez's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Sabios have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 13-12 record, which they share with Halcones. Patriotas lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Sabios' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Piratas (#8) in Bogota. Patriotas will play at home against Bucaros and hope to win that game.

American forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Jose Manaure (193-87) accounted for 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) came up with 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists and center Rafael Gomez (200) added 20 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Condores in the defeat. Colombia U19 won Bolivarian Games 2017 defeating Venezuela U19 in the Final game. Colombia opened the game with a 19-10 lead and led 8 points at the halftime. Venezuela replied with a 25-24 narrow win in the third period, but Colombia closed the game with the final 17-16 run. In the game for the third place Peru U-19 edged Ecuador U-19 89-50. Itzehoe Eagles (ProB) inked 31-year old American forward Lamar Roberson (203-100kg-86, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Aspire Sports). He played in the summer at Condores in Colombian LPB league.
