Arnold Fripp
22-year old forward Arnold Fripp (201-F-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Piratas and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Condores (#6, 9-16) 105-97. Piratas maintains the 8th position in Colombian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 20 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Fripp had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Piratas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Arnold Fripp averages this season 15.1ppg and 8.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Brandon Sperling (196-G-90) of league's second-best Cimarrones. He is American guard in his second season at Cimarrones. In the last game Sperling recorded impressive double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Cimarrones lost that game 79-92 to the lower-ranked Halcones (#5, 13-12). Cimarrones managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. His team's 16-9 record is not bad at all. Sperling is one of the most experienced players at Cimarrones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 5.8rpg and 3.8apg. Former Humboldt State University star Sperling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to center Cristian Arboleda (205-C-91) of league's leader Academia. Arboleda scored 17 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Arboleda's great performance Academia lost 69-81 to #3 ranked Bucaros. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Academia had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 4th lost game is hopefully really an accident. Arboleda's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Arboleda has a very solid season. In 24 games in Colombia he scored 3.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rafael Gomez (200-C) of Condores - 20 points and 13 rebounds
5. Jose Manaure (193-F-87) of Piratas - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Stalin Ortiz (190-G-81) of Condores - 36 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Beyckar Aguaslimpias (204-F/C-88) of Sabios - 15 points and 6 rebounds
8. R.J. McGhee (198-F) of Halcones - 23 points and 5 assists
9. Antonio Davis (196-G/F-82) of Piratas - 24 points and 8 rebounds
10. Tyquane Goard (201-F-93) of Cimarrones - 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
