Stalin Ortiz
Former international Guard Stalin Ortiz (190-G-81) had an amazing evening in the last round for Condores, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Piratas (#8, 5-23) 91-86. Condores maintains the 6th position in Colombian Liga DirecTV. Condores is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-15 record. In the team's last game Ortiz had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Condores, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Valparaiso University star has very solid stats this year. Ortiz is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.8ppg) and averages impressive 2.2spg and 51.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 33-year old American Antonio Davis (196-G/F-82) of Piratas. Davis had a very good evening with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as Piratas lost that game 86-91 to slightly higher-ranked Condores (#6, 13-15). Piratas are still at the very bottom. 23 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Piratas managed to get this year. Davis is one of the most experienced players at Piratas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.1ppg (#6). He also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international center John Hernandez (207-C-84) of Sabios (#5). Hernandez scored 17 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Hernandez's great performance Sabios lost 61-74 to slightly lower-ranked Aguilas (#7, 9-19). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Sabios needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 15 victories and 13 lost games. Hernandez has a great season in Colombia. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.3rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.4bpg and FGP: 53.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Titus Mims (201-F) of Aguilas - 22 points and 9 rebounds
5. Tyquane Goard (201-F-93) of Cimarrones - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jose Manaure (193-F-87) of Piratas - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Franklin Forbes (180-PG) of Piratas - 21 points and 9 assists
8. Sean Harris (201-F) of Halcones - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Aramie Brooks (203-F/C-87) of Aguilas - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Luis Almanza (196-F-91) of Bucaros - 11 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
