Cimarrones nipped Bucaros to surge ahead in the semifinal series. Cimarrones outrebounded Bucaros 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. The former international swingman Eleutherio Renteria (194-81) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) chipped in 21 points. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. American Tayron Thomas (191-84, college: Philadelphia) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and international swingman Michael Jackson (197-87) added 24 points respectively for lost side. Bucaros' coach Bernardo Gonzalez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Academia - Sabios 88-79

Academia prevailed against Sabios in the opener. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell, agency: DTMones) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. International forward Michael Hinestroza Javes (208-90, college: UALR) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Luis Blandon (-88) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Herrera (197-81) added 20 points in the effort for Sabios. Four Academia and five Sabios players scored in double figures.

Hapoel Unet Holon (Winner League) tabbed 27-year old American forward Justin Martin (198-93kg-90, college: SMU, agency: Interperformances). He played in the summer at Caciques in Colombian LPB league, but left. In 7 games he averaged 12.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.3spg.
