Colombia lost against Argentina in the last game of the groups phase but clinched the 3rd place and the right to play for the 5th place and the ticket to be in the Amercup and the World Championship qualifier been among the top five teams of the continent.
Colombia played a smart game, taking care of the ball, fighting for the rebounds at both sides and using a physical game to keep Argentinas pace, the Colombian technical staff having a clear goal save the energy of their main players, limited the game time of Ortiz, Jackson, Caicedo, Perez and Hernandez , but still mixing starters and the young ones coming from the bench the national team keeps close in the score during the first half.
Argentina despite their struggles in the paint found all their shooters warm to make 65% of his three points shots (17 out of 26),9 of the 12 argentinean players make at least one three points basket, Nicolas Romano (200-F-87) had a strong end of the game leading the Argentinean scorers, Colombias Michael Jackson (197-F/G-87) lead all the scorers with 24 pts, Rodrigo Caicedo (180-PG-88) had a good night with 13 pts.

Colombia will face Paraguay in the game for the 5th place.

Colombia 69 - Jackson 24pts, Caicedo 13pts, Ibarguen 11pts, Ortiz 8pts, Hernandez 5pts, Perez 4pts, Mejia 3pts, Hinestroza 1pt.
Argentina 97 - Romano 20pts, Mainoldi 15pts, Deck 11pts, Aguerre 7pts, Delia 7pts, Brussino 6pts, Saiz 5pts, Acuna 4pts, Vildoza 3pts, De Los Santos 3pts, Balbi 3pts
