Jose
Rodriguez
23-year old power forward Jose Rodriguez (197-PF-94) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cimarrones and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Aguilas (#8, 5-19) with 24-point margin 83-59. Cimarrones maintains the 3rd position in Colombian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cimarrones will need more victories to improve their 13-7 record. In the team's last game Rodriguez had a remarkable 64.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Cimarrones, through which he has constantly improved. Jose Rodriguez averages just after three games 21.3ppg and 10.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Amir Carraway (198-G/F-91). He is American swingman in his first season at Cimarrones. In the last game Carraway recorded impressive 27 points and 3 rebounds. Of course together with Rodriguez he helped Cimarrones with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Aguilas (#8, 5-19) 83-59. Cimarrones' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 13-7 record is not bad at all. Carraway is one of the most experienced players at Cimarrones and similarly like Jose Rodriguez has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#9). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Beyckar Aguaslimpias (204-F/C-88) of league's second-best Academia. Aguaslimpias showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Academia, leading his team to a 117-77 easy win against the lower-ranked Piratas (#6, 9-15). Academia needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 9 lost games. Aguaslimpias has a very solid season. In 15 games in Colombia he scored 11.1ppg. He also has 7.1rpg and FGP: 63.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brandon Givens (198-G-87) of Piratas - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Tyler Murray (195-PG-90) of Academia - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Karl Moore (203-PF-87) of Aguilas - 23 points and 9 rebounds
7. Simon Granados (182-PG-93) of Academia - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Neicer Lozano) of Piratas - 19 points and 4 rebounds
9. Divier Perez (201-F/C-89) of Academia - 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Robert Crawford (201-G/F-90) of Aguilas - 22 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
