USJ Arba San Ramon is the 2012 National Champion

After
winning Game 3 of the National Finals, Coopenae USJ Arba San Ramon coached
by
Joshua Erickson managed to win the following two games, becoming the
2012 Costarican National Champion.
Game 4, played on August 24, ended 79-71 for San Ramon, after that
Sanatura-Desamparados had tried a comeback during the last quarter, without
success.
The decisive Game 5 was played on Sunday, August 26 at the Gimnasio Nacional
in San Jose.
Another time more, USJ Arba started very well the game, all his players were
hitting the basket with good percentages led on the court by import
Greg Plater (185-G-89, college:
Long
Beach St.). After ending behind the first half, Sanatura completed a
good rally during the thir quarter, ending it ahead in ths score, 54-53. But
USJ Arba came back and won the game 68-74 making history, thanks to a
succesful comeback from 0-2 in Final Series.

Coopenae-USJ ARBA San Ramon claimed the Clausura Tournment of LBS
defeating in decisive game of Final Series
Ferreteria Brenes Barva 90-81.
The Finals ended 2-1 for USJ Arba, and import player
Greg Plater (185-G-89, college:
Long
Beach St.) was the game MVP with 30 points in the third game. The top
performers at the losing side were
Carlos Quesada (198-C-85) with 17 points,
Rohel Wilson (197-F/C-89) and
Amir Alvarado (198-F-84, college:
Marshalltown CC) with 16 pts each
USJ Arba is now playing the National Series vs. the winner of Apertura
Tournment, Sanatura. The series winner will bve the 2012 National Champion.
Sanatura Basket-Desamparados defeated Ferreteria Brenes Barva aven in Game 2 of Final Series, this time 76-72, claiming the Apertura title of LBS-First Division. del Baloncesto Nacional. The game was very close, Sanatura took an advantage but Barva managed to come back, tieing the score with Charles Plummer (191-G/F-84) at 67-67 with 3:10 to go. But some good plays from Dave Milliner (197-C-81) and Michael Jackson (195-F/G-87) allowed Sanatura to keep again the head and to win the game.
