Costa Rica finished their COCABA U16 Championship campaign on a high note. They held off Honduras to claim the second spot at 2-2 record. Paula Mora came up with 23 points to lead the winners.
Honduras ensured the brave start. They posted a 15:11 lead after ten minutes. Honduras maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They secured a 29:23 halftime lead. However Costa Rica struck right back in the third term. They unleashed 27 points to spur ahead for a 50:49 advantage at the final break. Costa Rica fired 26 points in the fourth period to secure the victory. Daniela Quesada had 21 points and 14 rebounds for Costa Rica. Meilyn Herrera contributed 12 points in the victory. Victoria Callejas replied with 15 points for Honduras. Nelly Rapalo chipped in 14 points in the loss.

El Salvador U16 - Costa Rica U16 71:47
El Salvador ensured the fourth straight win at the COCABA U16 Championship. They knocked down Costa Rica to stay undefeated on top of the standings. Adriana Rivas netted 20 points, issued 7 assists and grabbed 5 boards to pace the winners. Costa Rica fell at 1-2 record after the loss.
El Salvador started strong. They pulled ahead for a 25:17 lead after ten minutes. El Salvador maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They posted a 40:25 halftime buffer. El Salvador aggravated the damage for Costa Rica in the third quarter. The gap grew at 23-point mark before the final frame. El Salvador did not slow down in the fourth period and claimed a comprehensive win at the end. Hillary Martinez posted 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, while Claudia Hernandez contributed 16 points for the winners. Paula Mora answered with 14 points for Costa Rica. Yamilah Solano netted 9 points in defeat.

Costa Rica starts the campaign at the COCABA U16 Championship.
In Day 1 Costa Rica beat Honduras 47:37. Costa Rica opened the game with 14-7 and added defensive 9-8 in the second period. Moreover the winners won the third quarter 10-6 and did not mind 14-16 in the last stanza.
In Day2 El Salvador beat Honduras 98:32. The winners started the game with 17-8 and then added 24-8 in the second frame. Moreover El Salvador looked better in the second half and posted two victories for the final result. Martinez Argueta Hillary Fabiola top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Rodriguez Cortez Alejandra Guadalupe added 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rivas Garcia Adriana Carolina, Sanchez Rodas Nathalie Daniela and Larin Reyes Sandra Karina had 10 points each.
