The National Championship Finals are held now in Costa Rica. Barva are now step away from the title following back-to-back victories over Sanatura-Escazu. The teams are scheduled to clash in what could be a decisive game on June 19.

Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) stepped up with 22 points to lead the winners. The next game was a closer battle. Sanatura-Escazu tried hard to stay within striking distance of Barva. But the visitors gained a 69:55 lead late in regulation. Escazu capped the regulation with a 9:0 run but could not avoid a 69:64 loss at the end. Christian Chavarria netted 17 points in the victory.

The teams stayed close throughout the third term. Sanatura-Escazu eked out a 48:47 lead heading into the final stanza. The margin grew at 7-point mark midway through the final frame. Coopenae USJ trimmed the gap late in regulation but could not avoid the loss at the end. Isaac St.Rose (190-G/F-83, college: John Brown) stepped up with 22 points to lead Sanatura-Escazu. Daniel Simmons (194-F/C-80) answered with 18 points for San Ramon.
