U.M.F. Grindavik (Dominos League) agreed terms with 28-year old Belizean-Costa Rican forward Charles Garcia (208-104kg-88, college: Seattle). He played last summer at Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rican BSN league, but left the team in March. In four games he had 4.0ppg and 3.5rpg. Garcia ended the last season at Samsung Thunders (KBL) in South Korean league. In 20 games he recorded 10.5ppg and 6.0rpg. But the most of that year he spent at Goyang Orions (KBL) in South Korean league. In 34 games he recorded 10.9ppg and 4.6rpg.
He attended Seattle University until 2010 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.

ARBA - Grecia 95-79 ARBA held off Grecia to open win count in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-79. ARBA dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Grecia's 32. They outrebounded Grecia 44-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Coopenae Arba reach semifinals - 9 days ago
Coopenae Arba reach the semifinals as they won the second game against Abogados 83-52. The top team of the regular season dominated the whole game and rightfully clinched the victory. Amourys Ripool top-scored for the winners with 17 points, while Javier Bustamante(187-G/F-79) replied with 17 points in a loss. Two more games will be played on Friday, while the game between Universidad De Costa Rica versus Brenes Brava is scheduled for August 12th.   [read more]

LBS Round 18: Escazu beats Barva in the most crucial game of the week - 20 days ago
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in San Jose. Third ranked Escazu faced second-best Barva. Host Escazu (12-3) defeated guests from Barva (12-4) 62-52. The game was mostly controlled by Escazu. Barva managed to win fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Escazu forced 22 Barva turnovers.
